With the Drawing of the groups today we now have the basis of the World Cup matches for the first round.

Group A
1. South Africa (Host)
2. Mexico
3. Uruguay
4. France

Group B.
1. Argentina
2. Nigeria
3. South Korea
4. Greece

Group C
1. England
2. U.S.A
3. Algeria
4. Slovenia

Group D.
1. Germany
2. Australia
3. Serbia
4. Ghana

Group E.
1. Netherlands
2. Denmark
3. Japan
4. Cameroon

Group F.
1. Italy
2. Paraguay
3. New Zealand
4. Slovakia

Group G.
1. Brazil
2. North Korea
3. Ivory Coast
4. Portugal

Group H.
1. Spain
2. Switzerland
3. Honduras
4. Chile


The groups look pretty even except for Spain's group. I really don't think Chile or Honduras are even close to Spain's level. Switzerland maybe.

Brazil's Group promises to have some good matches specially the one against Portugal.

USA will have to face England as its first match.

For the second time Mexico gets the inaugural match against the host country. The last time was in 1966 against England.

Watch, after North Korea gets beat, in their next round a whole new group will show up with the same "names" and 15 bodies will be found somewhere in North Korea.....

Some of these look incredibly lopsided.

Can't imagine A, C, F and H as anything but romps for France, England, Italy and Spain.

I feel Australia may put up a good fight vs. Germany, though.

Most of the Groups are comprised of 2 strong teams and 2 weak teams.

Leading to a second phase where we'll have a majority of stronger teams.

Group G seams to be the only one tailored made to see a single team kick the ever living daylights out of the other 3. Spain being the single team.

Woo.. Love soccer and I support Man Utd. I'm not really, surprisingly, watching National soccer. But I got a feeling Brazil will top in the group of death.. I don't support Brazil, in fact not a fan of any national soccer team
