The I'm Getting P'd off with Ebay Thread

Im about to vent...

If the gradual rise in fees and the now compulsary rule that any media sold through Ebay HAS to have free P&P wasnt bad enough, Ebay are now resorting to dirty tricks.

A few days ago I got an email from Ebay saying that today was a free listing day. I have used these days before to shift various items. All my listings are stored on Turbo Lister to make listing easy. I've uploaded my items and then checked to see if I had been charged or not. I had and I wondered why, so I checked the T&Cs of the promo and it now seems that Ebay have decided that if you list with any listing tools you are now able to join in the free promo. Now, I realise that I should have check the T&Cs before but since they have never had this rule before I wasnt expecting it. I feel that this is a bit of a dirty trick by Ebay.

They said that media sales are now required to have free P&P as they have to compete with other on line stores that offer free shipping. This is WRONG, they dont have to compete at all, its the sellers who need to compete. How can I put up, for example, a DVD for sale and offer free shipping worldwide? I cannot, not unless I charge a higher price in the first place. So I have to limit the sale to the UK which limits the number of potential buyers and will therefore reduce Ebays selling fees.

I think that Ebay is getting too greedy and its about time a new site took the lead in online auctions.

What do you expect? eBay's about as dirty as they come. I mean, this guy is their CEO:

They've been screwing their sellers over for years now, and it's only getting worse.

I stopped using eBay when they said that all transactions had to be through paypal and that if you buy anything with using money orders, or checks even if you had made a deal with the sellers that they could either ban you from ebay (or even sue both the seller and buyer).

I stopped using eBay years ago and have been using ioffer.com. You get to post for free and, if you want, you can place multiple items in a single listing and then negotiate with each other over a few of the items or the entire listing. They truly give control over to the buyers and sellers while still ensuring that transactions are secure.

eBay only cares about their own profit and nothing else.

Ioffer.com seems to have mostly bootlegs of boxsets on dvd. I went to buy Spiral Zone the Complete Series collection off there. Luckily im not dummy and double checked and found out it wasnt the limited print that the creater sold on the official spiral zone website. Sadly its sold out forever. Wish shout! would put it on dvd.
