Did Luke have a thing for Leia? Star Wars Question

I was talking with a friend about the first Star Wars, A New Hope. I never really noticed Leia kiss Luke when they were swinging above that chasm in the Death Star, and he made a joke about how much Luke liked that. Luke also seemed to like it in Empire, but I thought he was just laughing at Han's jealousy.

I also thought that siblings have a sort of bond or something, I didn't really think Luke liked the Princess, but did he? I knew all hands were off when they found out they were brother/sister, but before that did Luke really have a thing for Princess Leia?

Even though my Star Wars knowledge is lacking these days. I'm going to go out on a limb and say yes... In A New Hope, I'm certain the intent was to give the impression that there was potential there.

In Empire Strikes Back though, Luke is only used as a tool for the tension between Han and Leia, and yes, it does seem obvious that he enjoys Han's frustration at that particular moment. Also, the revelation that Leia is Luke's sister doesn't seem to damage him on any kind of romantic level.

IIRC, some of the advertisement for ESB painted a love triangle between Luke, Leia and Han. So, yes. He probably did. I've always hypothesized that he wasn't written as Leia's sister for a bit, possibly until after ESB.

Yes, he did. It wasn't until he actually found out that the thing went away.

Leia kisses Luke when he's recuperating after the Hoth incident in Empire as a way to get at Han because Han is syaing they had a moment in the south corridor which is probably true but it annoys her.

Luke smiles, and sits back thinking he just got the girl away from Han.

Throughout the first 2 movies the sexual tension between them is ever present.

By the time they are in the forest moon of Endor in 'Return', Han is about to concede defeat to Luke. Until Leia tells him they are siblings.

One problem with the hypothesis.

Obi-Wan: That boy is out last hope.

Yoda: No. There is another.

Also when Luke called to Leia, the twin thing sort of plays a role in her responding to Luke's calls for help. The Twin sensing the other sibling in need. She also knew where Luke was.

Lucas had it planned as since before ESB at latest.

Wasn't there someone here who used to have a sig of the spirit of Obi-Wan looking on as Luke and Leia french in ESB? That sig always had me rolling.
