http://www.heatvisionblog.com/2010/03/evans-accepts-captain-america-mantle.htmlI dunno. His Human Torch was spot on but I don't know if I could take him serious as Cap. I'll still give him a chance.

Hell, I'm loving what they're doing with Marvel movies. Hopefully the Avengers show up soon in Live Action. That would rock my socks.

That has basically been the plan these past few years: getting the Avengers together so they can do the movie.

Wow I didn't even recognize Weaving from that shot. He's a great actor, and albeit a badass villian actor, heck he can play just about everything. I'm getting pumped from this movie!

I know some would give the choice of Chris Evans grief if he gets the role as Captain America, however, I think he could do a good job because of his performance in Sunshine.
I was hoping that Chris Hemsworth(George Kirk from Star Trek) would be considered for Captain America but he is already cast as Thor.
Hugo Weaving as The Red Skull would be fantastic. He has the ability to bring intensity, presence, and charisma to his performance for a great representation of a villain that is sometimes given the short end of the stick.

I have read that they thought he was great for the role because of his youthful look and the fact he can play a super hero. I remember reading they wanted the dude from survivor.

As a fan of the first two volumes of The Ultimates, I love the casting of Sam Jackson as Nick Fury.

I'm not sure I could take him serious as Cap after his role as the Torch, but I've been loving these recent Marvel movies, so here's hoping they don't fail now. Even if they don't do as well as Iron Man or Hulk, I'm a big Captain America fan, so II'm definitely going to like it
Now that rumor about Weaving being Red Skull seriously made me shout out loud. That'd be epic

Avengers is prolly one of the most ambitious movie ideas ever. Look out Avatar and Dark Knight

I came across this bit of news at Aintitcool yesterday:
Captain America's movie costume:

Source -
http://www.aintitcool.com/node/45326Captain America's costume/uniform looks good to me for the most part. I like how largely retains the classic uniform's colour scheme and layout while making some changes like switching the red at the gloves and boots with leather brown. The design of the uniform looks like it is significantly inspired by the second version of the modern Ultimates Captain America uniform, which I like because it incorporates a helmet and more utilitarian features.
I'm not sold on the "A" on the forehead, though. I know it's iconic and part of the character's visual identity but I was hoping for something more stylized and less literal than the letter A simply being stamped up there.

The Hulk may also be a character in the movie, but at this stage, there is no deal that would bring back Ed Norton, who starred as the emerald giant in 2008's "The Incredible Hulk."
Didn't they say that if they couldn't get the stars of the individual movies, it wasn't going to happen?
