There's a secret about going to the Dentist. Once you go in, tell the nurse that you are nervous and ask for a Valium (a drug that will relax you). Sit in the lobby for about half an hour.

I know it sux, but you have to suck it up.

Once you're finally in the chair, just tell the dentist that you are really nervous and have he/she put a local on the spot that the shot goes into. Also, it's important that he dispenses the novocaine while he/she's pushing the needle in deeper. It will need to be done more than once. But once it's finished, someone could "hit upside your head with an aluminum baseball bat (my name is mud)" and not feel a thing!

As someone who's had plenty of trouble with his teeth, suck it up and get in there.

And if he wants to take out all four wisdom teeth, let him, but make sure they knock you out to do it.

Get those wisdom teeth out if you can champ.

It's a great move. Seriously.

I had been getting headaches for the better part of a year, out came the wisdom teeth, away went the headaches.

Yeah, you gotta be put under.

I had all four taken out at once. I was telling a joke and when I woke up my mouth was full of cotton, but I was still laughing from the joke. I was out for two hours and I didn't even know it. Sooo much better that way. And make sure you take the drugs they give you. Rememebr, this is oral surgery, it's real. So take all of the drugs.

I'm terrified of the Dentist as well. And I've only been there once! A few years ago I had my first trip. Ended up having a root cannall and 8 fillings. Want to know the weird part? The fillings hurt more then the root cannal. They chalk you so full of happy juice that you can barly even rejester the presence of another human in the room!

My friend recently got her wisdom teeth pulled and said they put her under for the procedure and when she became aware of herself she was talking to a faux potted plant.

Its scary at first but once your there things start easing out. I hate-absolutly hate w/ a capital H- needles and when they pulled out those huge seringes, I nearly fainted. :P

I was awake with only novocaine and a little nitrous. I felt no pain at all, except you bleed for like 4 hours. Just make sure you drink a lot of water after getting them pulled because I got dehydrated when I was recovering.

I love the dentist. I remember when I had my wisdom teeth taken out, I was knocked out. They said to just lay around for 3 days to a week, for everything to calm down. I went to the beach the next day, on some crazy pain meds. The beach has never been so fun.

What I meant to say was suck it up and get over it. It's best for you in the long run.

Hey buddy dont worry buddy you will be fine i know the feeling i have a pathological fear of the dentist i have to be practically held down to be sedated but try these steps before you get into the chair firstly when you are sitting outside close your eyes breath in and out slowly whilst counting to 20 then as you are entering if you still are having a bit of fear slowly tap your thumb on each finger in random secsetion on each hand and if that doesnt work as the dentist is coming to give you the sedative close your eyes and think of anything a book a section of the paper you read that helps th most as your mind is concentrating on one thing and it distracts you from the other

Hmm..let me see..
I've had 4 teeth extracted (2 premolars and two upper canines, they were undesolved baby teeth) 1 root canal, 7 fillings. Possibly might've had a baby tooth molar removed when I was younger, but I can't remember. I was never knocked out, and might only have gotten the laughing gas once. The rest were light anesthetic. I never had wisdom teeth extracted, in fact I was born without them. A lot of the fillings were the result of me thinking my teeth could never rot, as I had dentists say to me after I had some pain in them: " I don't see any cavities." Fortunatly these are small fillings, and the shock of needing the root canal made me realise I needed to take care of my teeth, so I don't end up toothless in my old age.

I think you'll do fine at the dentist. A lot of people are scared, but there are a lot of nice dentists out there that strive to make the experiance as easy and pleasant as possible. Good Luck! 8)

I've had three teeth pulled. They were all impacted baby teeth. I got put under. Heres a tip. Never let them give you the gas if they give you a choice between it or a needle in your arm. Nitrous Oxide can really **** with some people. I know that first hand. Woke up from getting them pulled, I couldn't stop crying for some reason for like two minutes and then I just hurled onto the docs tools. I felt great after that though. I don't ever want to be awake for that kind of stuff though. Last thing I need to hear is him wrenching and cracking apart a piece of my skull.

I loathe the dentist. I went a few weeks ago and find out I have 4 cavities. Last time I got two fillings. Next time, June 6, my last fillings. :-x

It does make a sound as they are taking them out if you're awake. It sounds like bones snapping and crunching, and it travels a bit into your skull. So you were lucky not to hear it.

Save the vicodin for when you feel better, then get yourself a 6 pack of beer  . drink about 4 of them, and take 3-4 pills. What a head trip...

Are you nuts, do you want to kill him?

There is no reason to take the Vicodin after the first day, I took one Vicodin after my teeth were pulled and all it did was make me itch like crazy, I was fine with just the Tylenol.
