So, I've recently become a fan of Full Metal Alchemist. It's filling the void left untill a new Transformers series comes out.

Anyway, as it turns out the voice of Van Hohenheim of Light, is non other than Scott McNeil.

He's not on the cast like for Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood but as far as I can tell, Brotherhood has only dubbed the first 8 episodes, non of which does Hohenheim appear in.

Al has a different voice actor in Brotherhood than the original series had. It looks like the first Full Metal Alchemist was recorded with a kid who is no longer able to play the voice of a young boy and Brotherhood is now being played by a woman.

I like Brotherhood more because of it's storyline, as it is more attuned to the manga, and because I feel there's alot more character development.

I like the original FMA series too, it had alot of action, and it was my favourite series at one point in time.

Plus I am an organic chemist/geochemist/chemist in real life so it's jut fun as hell to watch what they do in the show.

And here's a tease if you don't know already... Hohenheim in Brotherhood is 10x more badass.

Roy and Riza are all that is this series.

Yeah I had read on the wiki about Father. I guess Hohenheim is the main villian, or rather a humocculas that looks like him, in Brotherhood in place of Dante.

Pluse I allso read that Wrath, Pride, and Sloth are different characters in Brotherhood.

Trying not to read too much on Brotherhood though. Just trying to understand what I've seen allready which is only the first 8 episodes.

After my last post I just realized that episode 9 is in English now. :)

Some episodes of Brotherhood look like they're just shown from a slightly different perspective than the original. I didn't even realize it was a different continuity till they changed how Scar killed the Chimera that the Sewing Life Alchemist made useing his daughter. After that, it's been preddy much the same again except for a minor change that Al had never met 66 when he was still alive. Well actully a major change in story, minor change in dialog.

Actually, Hohenheim is good... just a good badass :) After a handful of episodes the plot will start to deviate completely from the anime.

I kinda want to write my own version useing different elements of each series that I like and introduceing a new character.

I kinda have this idea that a Humoncculis is just a body without a soul and it just may be possible for someone like Al to exsist as both a soul in armor and as a Humoncculis at the same time.

Of course sense the Humoncculis is weakened by the remains of the person it was created from that would mean if say, Al's body was liveing as a humoncculis that it wouldn't be able to get near Al's soul.

That's my therie anyway.

Conqueror of Shamballa partially confirms that. Al got his body back at the end of the main series, and mentions in the movie he can detach his soul and bond it to things.

He said PART of his soul pluse that it was only temporary. BTW I've seen all of Full Metal Alchemist and the movie. It's only Brotherhood that I haven't seen more than 9 episodes of so I'm not fully aware of how the plot changes between the two series.

The only major plot change I've seen so far is the death of the Chimera. In FMA only she was killed in an ally way. Sueing life alchemist later became a Chimera himself but in Brotherhood they were both killed by Scar at the same time.

I was just thinking... what if Transformers had their own version of Alchemy?

The main characters being Ed and Al. Maybe on Cybertron there's an Optimus Prime with an Organic right arm and left leg and his brother's spark (Ultra Magnus) is trapped inside an organic Pretender shell. I guess a pretender shell would be the Cybertronian equivilant of a suit of armor on Earth.

Ultra Magnus: Can't we move any faster brother?

Optimus Prime: You try driving with only 2 back tires. :P

Picture G1 Optimus Prime with BW Optimus Primal's right arm and left leg while you read that.

Winry would be Elita-One and with her Automail obsession beng replaced by an Organic obsession she'd be the total oppisite of Animated Elita-One I mean Blackarachnia.

Though that would make Alpha Trion their father and who would their mother be?

Maybe change it so the brothers are Hot Rod and Hot Shot. Optimus Prime and Elita One as their parents. Arcee as Winry.

Either way it could be the Technorganic Alchemist.

*I might be having way too much fun with this series... did I mention my ex-girlfriend introduced me to this?*
