The suit looks interesting but the cape is a little too red.

Cool.

I loved the hammer-scene at the end of Iron Man 2

This is a case where being too faithful to a character design is a bad thing. I'm not a fan of form fitting "armour" like the "chainmail" Captain America wears(scale armour would be more accurate) and the current Thor costume of the comics seems to be the same. It looks silly on paper and it looks silly as a live action prop/costume.

I am curious about the movie as I am thinking it may be a silly trainwreck of a movie but I'm hoping it'll be a solid comic book movie. I doubt it'll be Iron Man or Spider-Man 1 and 2 good but I hope it's better than Elektra...

Hey, he's got facial hair. Nice. One of the things I didn't like about Marvel's Thor was that he was clean-shaven, while the actual Thor had a big bushy beard that was probably capable of kicking your ass. (Knowing who it was attached to)

Which picture are you looking at where you can see the whole suit? I can see the upper chest and part of his arm, and it's mostly blurry and out of focus.

Actual Thor?

I haven't seen the whole suit. I'm referring to the arm in the photo when I'm talking about form fitting armour.

Yeah, you know the actual Norse God of Thunder from Viking Myth. From whence Stan Lee and Jack Kirby got the inspiration to create the comic book character.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thor

With that said Thor has been known to sport the beard on and off through the comics. Most Specifically the Eric Masterson Thor, who would later become Thunderstrike.

I believe this Thor is going to be the Donald Blake Thor which did not sport the beard in the original comics.

I'm expecting this to be a decent movie. Being directed by Kenneth Brannagh means will likely get the very over the top "Ye olde English" speaking Thor or at least I hope we do. It was always part of Thor to speak in this refined English.

Some countries are seeing the release the movie before the USA. Australia has already opened, and Mexico released it this weekend probably to coincide with Children's Day.

Apparently it's because of the world cup, supposedly the games would keep people out of the cinemas.

Maybe, but the World Cup doesn't start for another month and Movies like these tend to open close to simultaneously in most places.

Ah, yes, I assumed Shadowman was referring to the Thor of Norse mythology/dead religion but when people use "actual", I first think of historical figures or a currently living person so I just wanted to check for clarification. I thought by "actual Thor", he could have also meant some guy with a beard who goes by the name of Thor.

I kind of figured people would know I was talking about the Norse God. Not some guy down the street who waves around a sledgehammer screaming "I am Thor Son of Odin and you will remove the radio from my teeth!"

I think this look is awesome for Thor. I like the classic suit but there is something about the chainmail look that I like so much more. Oh and btw Thor, in Norse myth, has red hair and a red beard as oppose to the blond hair and now blond beard we see in the picture - although that doesn't bother me at all :)

Destroyer

I've never heard of Destroyer. Now the Marvel Legneds Thor Buster Iron Man Variant makes sense. Obviously it's going to be controlled by Loki. Neato!

I would be surprised they didn't go for someone more recognizeable, but to be honest, I've only read a handful of random Thor issues, so maybe Destroyer is one of his more memorable villians.

You have 50 cents to spare each day?

Hasbro is displeased...

By Odin's beard!

That's pretty cool. That's better than being named Ronald McDonald.

This must be mentioned. Back in '05 Ronald Macdonald robbed a Wendy's:

Yeah, it's sounds funnier than it is. I can't believe that happened almost five years ago....
