Still not totally detailed on Joker, for good reason I'm sure.

However, for me, there is only one Joker for the movies.

Jack Nicholson.

I'm wondering if he starts out in face paint and then somehow gets scarred and ends up the darker version

You mean Cesar Romero, surely? They're identical, really. Only Nicholson had a gun. :P

Of course...Nicholson was just being himself in the movie albeit with face paint on.

So, are you dismissing this Joker more than a year before the movie comes out, or just saying that you like Nicholson's Joker more than Cesar Romero's since those are the only two big screen versions?

There's the correct answer.

Jack Nicholson only ever plays Jack Nicholson. Sometimes, he'll be Jack Nicholson with a strange quick.

This is what I call the "Tom Cruise Syndrome," because no one is ever as guilty about it as Cruise. Nicholson you can still get beyond it being him every so often and get into the character, although that's mainly in his old movies. Tom Cruise only knows how to play one character: Tom Cruise as that character.

Kirsten Dunst is also suffering from this.

I'm syaing that I prefer Nicholson's Joker. As for Romero, I've only seen his perfermance on the small screen, courtesy of VHS.

Romero was super, though apparently he wouldn't shave off that moustache.

Now see Nicholson was meant for the dark movie that batman original series 1 was. We all know Jack is nuts.

Romero was for the campy bat-man 60's show, which rock!

I so wish they pull their heads out of their stupid asses and release the series on dvd. I'd so own it.

I didn't think he was anywhere near dark enough. I felt too much of the campy series in the portrayal with some of the lines he had. You could argue that he was darker before he got turned into The Joker.
