Not a fan, but I've seen some of the show. Some guy RIPPED OUT HIS OWN FRAKING HEART and threatened to kill... Naruto? Is that the main character's name? Anyway, somehow the one guy rips out his own heart without immediately killing himself, lived long enough to explain his whole plan of killing himself which would also kill Mr. Hero, and failed I guess. Can't quite remember how it ended.
All other episodes I've seen consisted of Mr. Hero grunting, that other guy he's with being injured, and that girl proving herself or something.

I as well enjoy reading the manga, and watching the anime series/movies.
any idea as to when Naruto Shippuden movies 2-3 will be released on dvd in english?. to me it seems that movies 2-3 are way over due for an english release. Seeing as only movie 1 of the shippuden series is out,and their already working on a movie 4 in japan.

I love the butchered TV version that gets aired over here, there is no need for all the censoring and cutting since the uncut DVD versions have the exact same rating, it's just the TV stations "thing" it seems.
Anyway I have no interest in the series but damn the censoring and cutting is hilarious:
water instead of blood,
"capturing", "defeating", "Stealing" instead of death or kill
Empty streets and backgrounds instead of corpses
It's just hilarious since the characters reactions are still very much shocked as if someone was brutally killed while saying "He, he stole my entire family!" "That monster!"

As a matter of fact, yes!
For the longest time I ignored Naruto, but I happened to catch a few episodes of Shippuden while I was building Micronaut City on my pool table and well, I got sucked in. Love the hip hop theme song!
My friend showed me some subtitled Shippuden she has on her laptop, like the battle between Sasori and Sakura and Lady Chiyo and I was amazed at exactly how much gets ripped out or altered in the American TV dub. Guess they don't want to warp all those sheltered little minds out there with -gasp!- REALISM!
Also got to see a Shippuden movie which involved a mission where they had to protect a priestess from a resurrected demon. Enjoyed it thoroughly!
Now I have a lot of catching up to do, starting with the original series....

My favorite character is sansei Kakashi. How's about you guys? Any one is Kakashi's fan like me?
Definitely! What's not to like? He's got a black hole creating Sharingon jutsu in his left eye, a penchant for smutty novels, and keeps the lower half of his face a mystery like Wilson in Home Improvement! Classic combination of quirkiness and raw skill and power!
I almost named my new cat Kakashi ( he's actually missing an eye! ) but went with Koji ( TF: RID) instead.

Hehe, don't mind that guy, he was a Spambot. I think Kakashi's the most favourite character in the series.

God, I hope he isn't dead. I freakin cried when Jiraiya and Asuma died. I never cry, but when those 2 died, i had to stop the damn media player to get a grip.
water instead of blood,
"capturing", "defeating", "Stealing" instead of death or kill
Empty streets and backgrounds instead of corpses
Thats terrible, but i'm glad I got into the series well before it ever got converted to a TV-friendly series. I watched 2 english dubbed episodes and the english voice actor for Naruto was so terrible, I was more than happy to go back to reading my japanese subtitles and listening to the japanese voice actors add emotions to the characters.
I don't read the manga and i know the manga is much farther in the story. I think if i read the manga, it would probably ruin the anime for me.

one of the reasons I don't like Naruto that much is when someone says they will die if they do a certain thing and then don't. This will kill you if you use, they use it, they don't die. Case in point Chouji and the pepper ball things.
I'm enjoying the manga at the moment though, Really liking Killerbee right now.

Uhhhhhhhhh. Spoilers much? I already know the plot but damn man, some people don't.
Naruto is a great example of Shonen Jump Manga, character's don't die. Dragonball, Bleach, etc.

I watch it, but I'm not really a fan, it is sometimes tooooooo predictable (deaths of the not-main characters...) and there were too many fillers at the end of the first series
My personal anime-preference at the moment: One Piece >> Bleach >> Naruto

I used to love Naruto. Its the only Japanese show I can actually watch let alone try to follow the whole series. But about 2 years ago when Cartoon network switched to digital TV and I couldnt see it anymore, I just gave up.

The manga totally ruined it for me, I used to love it, I knew just about everything about Naruto...then issue 1 had nudity in it which turned me away from the series....I probably would've hated it sooner save for the fact that I was watching the dubbed version, not sure how different the un-dubbed version is.
Then I realized that whenever they meet a new character, they always have a terrible life and either hate everything or want to kill something. Got kinda old.

I bought the Shippuden DVD today since I read the manga I want to see the anime version and it's really good.

I loved the CartoonNetwork Naruto but even then...it started getting a bit old--the whole Akatsuki thing just...never seemed to go anywhere.
And then I stumbled across a fanfic that was shouta--Kakashi/Naruto.
And now Naruto is ruined 4 evah for me.

I just want to know why they put part of ep 40 something right at the beginning of ep 1. What was the point of that, all it did was confuse me.

I'm a Naruto fan. I like both the anime and manga equally, but now adays I read the translated manga chapters more than watch the anime. And actually Naruto was influenced by DBZ, because the author is a huge DBZ fan. I go up on
www.narutocentral.com a lot to check up on new translated chapters.

It's a guilty pleasure anime that I got bored of. It's like Bleach but far worse. It's honestly pretty meh for Ninja based animu. But I was spoiled with stuff like Ninja Scroll when I first got into animu. Naruto doesn't do much for me even if you take the Shoenen Jump thing into consideration. There are far far better Shoenen Jump series out there. Like Hokuto no Ken and Jojo's Bizarre Adventure for example. But it's not outright awful. I mean, at least it's not Moe.

That's pretty much my take on it. My friends and I used to love the original Japanese w/subs and would randomly shout 'Sasuke-Kun!' just to get a laugh.
Once the series diverged from the manga and decided to go with filler instead of the 3-year jump, we all lost interest. Still, fun for awhile.

Finished watching the newest episode on Hulu.com the other night(168 or 9 I think)
I've been quite a fan of the show but I wasn't at first. I can only stand watching it in Japaness, the american dubs are horrible. Can't wait to see what comes next after the Pain arc.
I don't follow the manga. Mostly due to the financal burden my transformers collection and my car places on me. That and I just don't get into mangas that much.
