Medical coma-related question

I have a question for anyone. While someone is in a coma, does his or her heart rate change at all? I couldn't find any answers on the Net, which makes me think it doesn't.

(Don't worry. I don't know anyone in a coma. It's for a story.)

I can't back this up with proof. But, I remember when the whole Teri Shivo (spl?) thing went down here in FL, that as long as there is no stress on the body, the heart rate will not change.

Maybe if you look up that case, you will find more info.

I don't think it does either, almost like a perpetual state of rest.

Cool. Thanks, you two. Looks like I have to come up with another route in my story.
