I was curious to see if there were any people out there in the Seibertron universe that played Palladium RPGs (Rifts, Heroes Unlimited, Beyond the Supernatural, Nightbane, etc). WOuld love to share ideas and converse with you!

I'm a D&D 2nd ed/ 3.5 / Pathfinder guy. Played a little Mutants and master minds, silver age superheroes, BESM d20, and a few others, but not any of what you listed.

Heard good things about Rifts, but dont have any 1st hand experience.

was at kublacon (a yearly california bay area convention) a month or so back, saw some of the books and a game or 2 goin on, but didn't get a chance to play, since i was too busy helpin a friend run a booth :(

I've played Rifts almost since it came out. it may be the most unique RPG setting ever since it combines just about all aspects of fantasy genres into one nice package. I do also play Robotech, TMNT, and others. And have played some ADD as well...I have a tackle box of dice...:-P

Rifts is the best system for chucking everything into a mixed bag and producing a decent game. Not as much source material as was produced for GURPS, but a better system for utilizing them.

Dude, have you SEEN how much material is out there for Rifts now? 30+ World Books, 13 Dimension books, 7 sourcebooks, plus 5 adventure guides, a 7 book series on the Coalition's war against Tolkeen, magic, bionics, and GM compendiums, and two conversion books. It's crazy how much is out there now...70+ books in all now, not including the monthly Rifter magazine. It may not be as much as Gurps, but they have done a fantastic job of expanding the world. And there is still so much more to explore. Definitely has gone far beyond what the writer had in mind initially, especially now that they are advancing the timeline somewhat.

I am also kinda excited at the prospects of an upcoming Rifts movie. Screenplays have been written, apparently, and submitted. The potential is enormous.

First Aid I am well aware of the scope of the books, no worries there. I may not play anymore but between friends who do, and my own history (worked at comic/gaming stores, and a gaming warehouse, oh the fun when the Triax book was released, we moved hundreds of copies that week.) I still have enough interest to follow some of what is happening.

Yes 90+ (according to Palladium) books is impressive, but Gurps still has a larger library overall. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_GURPS_books

Not trying to troll, just presenting a fact. That said in all, Rifts is the better system bar none, and if I was to enter a game nowdays I choose Rifts over gurps without question.

Seeing however I don't even have the time to play Risk or Catan as much as I would like, that won't be anytime soon.

I wasn't trying to troll either bro...it just sounded like you hadn't been into the latest news out there. THe new Triax 2 book is phenomenal, BTW. Lots of new gear, info on the official alliance between the Coalition and the NGR, the major offensive that the NGR launched that splintered the Gargoyle and Brodkil Empiers and set the two at each others' throats, FLYING Glitter Boys... :KREMZEEK: :KREMZEEK: :KREMZEEK:

I fangasmed when THAT book came out.

THe fact that Palladium Books is still around after one of its employees embezzled close to two million dollars is just remarkable. And I agree about the Rifts system being better than Gurps. "Generic" indeed.

I used to play some of the Palladium RPG systems when I was a kid. Rifts was my favourite because of the wide variety of possible styles of campaign one could play. I particularly liked the way that Rifts moved towards the theme of horror.

OK...I'm getting discouraged...does this mean I'm 'out-geeking" everyone here? Isn't there ANYONE here that plays still? Please? 8-}

Yes, you're out-geeking me at least, hehe.

I'd love to be able to fit in RPGs into my schedule but with work, the significant other, and other hobbies such as TF collecting, I just don't have the time any more.

We meet once a week. We even have our group name, since we've been meeting for literally years: the Transforming Zombie Robots of Doom. T-shirts coming soon...heh heh

I would, but I don't have a group here to play with.

I could show you pictures of all my wargames armies/figures and RPG books if it'll help you feel better.
