I don't know if that's right, but Wikipedia says it doesn't celebrate anything and only exists because there's no holiday between Canada Day and Labor Day.

It's Saturday. Half the world is already doing that. If you need a holiday as an excuse to drink on the weekend, you're living your life wrong.

For a moment I thought this might be something like "happy [neo]natal day" and be some kind of birthday celebration.

So yeah, don't mind me.

Is Natal Day kinda like Cinco de Mayo in the US...a fake holiday made-up as an excuse to get trashed beyond normal getting-trashed levels?

EDIT: whoa...2500th post. Time flies when you're flaming people... 8-}

No, because Cinco de Mayo isn't made up, but commemorates the Mexican victory at the Battle of Puebla in 1862. Why Americans celebrate it however doesn't really make sense but whatever....

BC Day, and most of the other Natal Days cross Canada however, are pretty much a fake holiday created to get a day off in the middle of a stretch without proper holidays.
