Entire Star Wars saga to be released in 3D!

Well, just when we thought Lucas couldn't milk it anymore. But, it actually sounds like it'll be fun, because the Star Wars movies are visually astounding, and 3D would only enhance this. Too bad it can't improve the **** acting in the first 2 episodes...

Can't they just errr... dump episode I and make a new one instead? (Oh well, I hope at least the muppet Yoda from Phantom Menace will be replaced by a CG modell, and the Jabba from the upgraded New Hope will be corrected to look actually menacing)

And it wouldn't hurt for Lucas to use the Adywan Revisited version of the original trilogy...

Still, the opening battle from Revenge of the Sith in 3D =P~ - the original was allready good enough to feel like a rollercoaster ride, but I can't wait to see it.

On the one hand, if anyone can make this work it'll be the brains at ILM. On the other, this gives Lucas another chance to tinker with the series, and that will only lead to bad things...

Weak. Man, He makes 3D versions before even mastering a Blu Ray box set??? I HATE 3D. Just hurts my eyes and head. Star Wars 3D....come on. Some things just need to be left alone IMO.

The Star Wars Blu-Rays are coming out next year. The 3D release isn't happening till 2012.

Does this include the Clone Wars movie or just the trilogies?

Thsi is a brand new conversion technique which has been developed by James Cameron so that he can re-release Titanic in 3D just in time for the 100th anniversary of it's sinking.

I'm not too fond of this news, I don't like 3D and this only means he will screw with the movies even more.

Just the trilogies as far as I know.

Wow. If he's gonna do that, he should release the first 2 Terminator movies in 3D as well. Or at least Judgment Day.

I was just thinking how awesome it would be to see the Starwars movies in 3D a few days ago! Especially that Dethstar scene from episode 4, the pod race scene from episode 1 and the opening scene for episode 3!

The Clone Wars movie isn't a movie.

It's a made-for-TV movie meant to be a pilot for the series. They just decided to release it theatrically, which is, in technical terms, stupid.

3D sucks. Besides it won't make the movies any better (like the prequels) or worse (like orginal trilogy) than they already are.

Why does Titanic need to be 3D?

There are a select few scenes that would be great in 3D in the Star Wars saga. (None of them are from the prequel trilogy.) The final battle in New Hope, the Hoth battle in Empire, and the final battle of Jedi.

All in all, that's not enough for me to pay extra for the glasses.

I heard a rumor from someone that following the 3Dification Lucas is going to make three more movies. Someone told me that, so I didn't read it anywhere, so you know, don't kill a messenger.

There was a rumor they were making more but Lucasfilm squashed the rumors

George has to make new ones because his license with Hasbro is up in 2017 I think and if there are no new movies Hasbro might just dump him afte its over

Alright, like I said, it was just a rumor I had heard. Sorry if it got anyone riled up, for better or for worse.

I heard that same thing a while ago. I actually read it a few years ago.

Hey, I've got a question. What would the appeal of a 3D Titanic be? All I can think of would be the sinking scenes and the first time they open the doors to the ballroom or dining hall or whatever the room was. It's been many years since I saw the movie, and then only once, and I didn't like it (but critics loved it. So, maybe I was just hating it because it was "cool" to hate it lolololololo), but I'm having a tough time imagining why 3D would make it a viable film again.
