See it here.It looks really, really good, actually. But, then again, I barely know anything about Green Lantern.

Well, my GL knowledge is limited to the First Flight movie and the JL cartoon, but that looks awesome. It looks like Sinestro is still a Green Lantern, and the yellow light will be part of the movie.
BTW, who is the big-headed villain?

Hector Hammond. He's going to be one of the villains alongside Sinestro and probably Parallax.

The more I read about Green Lantern comics, the more I like 'em. I'm pretty excited for this, and I think Ryan Reynolds can pull it off, while still being hilarious.
Wolfmother's Cosmic Egg makes the trailer even more epic

There's no way Parallax is in this movie.. just doesn't make sense. I'm wondering about the pace of this movie, a lot of lore and mythos they need to go through in a short amount of time.

It is, it's supposed to be the source of Hector Hammond's powers.

Since when have comic book movies gone through their
entire mythos in one movie?

See thats why I say Ryan is wrong for the part.
Hal was never hilarious, hell he barely had a seance of hummer.

Correct me if I'm wrong here because like I said I don't know much about GL, but isn't this closer to Kyle Rayner's personality? They may have changed that to make him a more likable character.

Kyle is a more personable character, but I'm not so sure that the "Hal" character in the film has been written more like Kyle yet.
I havent seen enough to make that call.
But Ryhn would be wrong for Kyle as well.
Kyle is the fun loving happy go lucky type.
Rhyn is the funny DBag type.
He would have been better as the Green Lantern named Guy Garner.

Maybe they wanted Hal in the movie to be a more likeable guy and more laidback instead of being like ....Batman too serious they already have that in the Bat and there reaching out to alrger audience who possibly are knew to GL

I don't think Hal is laugh out loud hilarious in Geoff Johns' run of Green Lantern, he's more of a cocky smart ass.
I read the script about a year ago and don't remember the comedy standing out at me. Perhaps it's Ryan Reynolds improvising?
I digress. I'm really looking forward to the movie!

All the more reason he's wrong for the part.

Reynolds would have made a great Wally/Flash but I agree he's no Hal [or Kyle for that matter]. While I can't think of a good enough alternative off the top of my head [Hollywood is too full of prettyboys these days] they shold have gone for someone like a young Dennis Quaid for Hal.

Reynolds would have been perfect as Wally, but if they wanted him as a GL they should have made him Guy Garner.

The trailer sold me somewhat. I wasn't big on the all-CG outfit's but they look better in motion than I expected. Nice to see them throwing the corps members into the mix. Especially like how they're taking the Batman begins approach by throwing a B-list villain first so they can save the big-name villain for the sequel.
Think Hammond will end up as the giant-headed drooling Modok-looking creature by the end? Could be fun.

Just saw it, and not being familiar with the GL story at all, I think I'll pass. I'm even a fan of Ryan Reynolds, but I'll wait for the Netflix rental.

Batman Begins had Ra's Al Ghul...

It's more like the Iron Man movies.

From this trailer alone I can tell you that I'm not totally sold yet. So far from what I see, the movie Hal doesn't really have much in common with comic book Hal. Comic Book Hal Jordan is a straight up, dedicated, responsible army guy. But in the trailer he's the smart ass. The movie Hal is also nothing like Kyle Rayner. Kyle wasn't a player waking up late with a chick in the bed. He was a geek and your average everyday guy. So, I'm going to wait until the second trailer comes out before I decide if this is Friday night worthy, or Sunday morning matinee worthy.

I'm also not instantly sold on this based on the first trailer. This first trailer has more wrong with it than right. I've heard people say,"Hey they'll clean up the f/x shots", which is true but that isn't the concern.
Hal Jordan's portrayl, if it reflects in whole what we saw in part with the trailer, then that is beyond fixing at this point. I heard someone say elsewhere its like Van Wilder in Space. Iron Man wasn't a known commodity but they took a real actor in Robert Downey Jr and the critical masses took notice. Ed Norton was the Hulk. Anthony Hopkins is playing Odin and DC/Warners picks Ryan Rynolds to play Hal Jordan?!?
I'm hoping for a better second trailer cause I want to be able to get behind this film. If for no other reason than other DC Heroes like Flash and Wonder Woman to have a big screen shot.

I am anxiously awaiting the release of this movie. I am a big DC Universe fan and GL (Hal Jordan) is my 4th favorite character in that universe. The trailer looks awesome, I certainly hope it is better than Superman Returns, which I enjoyed simply because it was nice to see Supes on the big screen again.

I like Renoylds as Hal. They're both cocky as all get out. Bear in mind, this movies going to be obviously (SPOILER WARNING) pre-Hal Jordan killing errrbody.
