Holy crap! I turned on the TV looking for what channel ET is on, to try to see the TF DOTM trailer (which I still can't find  I turned past the news and my assistant principal's face was on it! YES! Then, under his face, it said ARRESTED. I was like "Holy ****!" I ran to tell my dad, but when I got back it said Hit and Run DUI Arrest! I was so happy! Holy crap, my assistant prinicpal got arrested! Maybe school will be canceled tomorrow! Ooh, or maybe exams next week will be postponed until after we get back from christas break! My God, the possibilities are endless! Or we will all go back to school tomorrow like nothing ever happened..but thats no fun!!!

Or you'll go without an assistant principal for a little while until they find a replacement, if they haven't already. Assistant Principal is not so big a deal that they're going to change up the entire school year because one got arrested.

Also, what's up with cheering that someone was in a hit-and-run?

When I was in middle school my principal was caught embezzling money. He immediately quit and everything continued as normal so don't get your hopes up for anything exciting to happen. Although in the year book one kid wrote "I love bank robbery" in a dialog bubble next to his picture, which was pretty funny.

It was an assistant prinicpal, I thought since he was in a place of authority, somthing might happen. Apparently not though.

A place of authority but not a place of necessity. Schools don't shut down when one member of the faculty is arrested.Someone will take his place tomorrow, I'm sure your school already had someone lined up in case of that.

What's the damage on the hit and run?

Someone's truck got messed up, but she was in her house when it happened.

What did this person do to you to receive so much animosity towards him?

He's the assistant principal!

I don't know about his school, but in mine he was the guy that dealt out discipline (suspensions, detentions, etc.). Hell, I'd laugh too!

(Luckily no one else was hurt!)

So...because he dealt punishments, that makes him a bad person? I mean, they did that at my school too, but that didn't make them bad people. Punishing kids who don't deserve it makes you a bad person, sure, but otherwise they're just doing their job.

HA! Theres a petition going around to get my science teacher fired! I agree with them. She gave me a damn F in the class the first grading period, and now she wants to fail me again! This is the first time I've EVER gotten an F, she MUST PAY! Now, I'm worried they're going to put me in the normal classes again, because she thinks its funny for us not to be able to hand in late work. I sent the **** to her the same day, and she still says it's too late to turn it in. No one in the whole school likes her, she never teaches, she just gives us work to do out of the book. Man, I hope they don't find this!

This is NOT a reason to wish this kind of ill on someone. The person is doing HIS JOB. People are not disciplined unless there is some reason to merit it.
To be honest, this thread is now starting to piss me off.

Anyone who does anything negative towards someone is a bad person. Such things are magnified a thousand fold when you're a teenager. /drama
(But then the kids deserve most of it anyway)

See, I get that you're a teenager, but such hatred and vindication towards a teacher is just ... well, lame.

You're so quick to blame her for failing but have you ever stopped to consider that you might be at fault as well?

No, I don't think he's a bad person at all, all I'm saying is that you can't be surprised when high school kids get a big laugh out of their assistant principal getting arrested for OUI.

Welcome to life. When you're 25 and working, and your boss needs something done for his 3:00 meeting, do you think turning it in at 4 will still be ok?

You may hate them, but these teachers are the ones that teach you more about life than you will ever learn in a textbook.

I don't...HATE her. There are alot more people that I have way more intense hatred for, but really. I have her class every day, every other class I have every other day, and I get dates confused and everything.

You don't hate her but according to you she "MUST PAY"?

And getting dates confused is well, still your problem not hers. What makes it even more inexcusable is we live in a age of technology where electronic planners are quite the norm. Can't afford one? There's plenty of websites out there with calendars to set up reminders (Gmail, Facebook even).

It all comes down to you being the responsible one to organise and plan your time.

Or just write down on a piece of paper "Science paper due Tuesday 12/7." Simple as that.

A few years after I left secondary school, the principal got caught shagging the head of the PTA in the back of a taxi parked in the car park, the taxi driver was filming it. At 930pm, after the PTA meeting.

The same principal who said that people who have sex out of wedlock are going to hell, who herself was divorced, and who told a Protestant girl that she had cancer because she wasn't Catholic, and when said girl died, she wouldn't let any of the other teachers go to the funeral. So she lost her job, and then karma of sorts bit her in the arse when she died of cancer a few years ago.

Lots of dodgey characters out there.

As for school being cancelled for the time being for you or whatever, I'll give you a bit of wisdom, its really not that great to miss school. Teachers striked a lot when I was in school, when I was about 14 it was awesome, it wasn't so great when I 18 and had final exams baring down on me.

School really is important, you don't want to be flipping burgers or picking up trash for a living, not that there's anythign wrong with those jobs, but you need to have goals for yourself that don't revolve around posting on a Transformers Forum for the rest of your life. [/lecture]

Not all teachers are saints, there are just as many bad ones as good ones. That's true of all professions. If there's a petition going around to get this teacher fired she must be doing something wrong. From the way he describes it she sounds awful. And if his assistant principal is anything like the ones I had I'd think it was hilarious he got busted too. All they did was walk around enforcing the dress code. Never mind there's a math teacher who hasn't mastered counting or an auto tech teacher who's never actually in the classroom. What's important is everyone has their shirts tucked in.

Hence why I said he might be at fault as well.

I know first hand how bad a teacher can be, I also know first hand how bad a student can be.

Agreed. I have a 17 year old daughter and she has complained about teachers in the past.
One of the times I remember she said that the teacher had something against her. I went to school and after talking with her I discovered that this teacher in fact DID have some kind of grudge against her.
She soon after lost her job when she berated the administrators daughter (she did not even realize it was her).

This is an example of a "bad" teacher. HOWEVER, my daughter, my wife or I never wished ill on her.

If she were a good teacher I don't think the petition would have even gotten off the ground. I know students talk **** about teachers all the time, but I've never seen a movement to get one fired before. She must have done more than give out a few F's to get that kind of response.
