With all the furore of the Wikileaks scandals and the shitstorm its caused, I was wondering how our American friends on here feel about their Administrations rather disappointing leaked comments regarding British troops serving in Afghanistan, the british gov't (don't care about that one, hate them), the monarchy (i'm working class, not a lover of the monarchy gotta say). Now gov'ts are gov'ts and don't speak for us all as a people, but i was wondering, as a 'Brit', are you all disgusted/embarressed by those comments regarding our troops supposedly 'lacking bottle', or do you stand by the Administration or Gov't here regarding our troops? ..and this in NOT a forum for people to jump on and start having a go at America or Britain, i'm simply curious as to the feeling at a 'man/woman on the street' level in America :D

Asange disgusts me. He puts others lives in danger just to fuel his fame (or infamy).

Never the less, thats the game politicians are in..one of ours has been caught on tape slating Rupert Mudoch and his organisation this very week. Don't forget, these are the people who'll put you in jail if you don't give em their taxes. However, derogatory statements were made regarding your allies, does it bother you? Been plenty of funerals up my way for British soldiers, and then you hear an American politician, well out of harms way (like our own politicians) who's never even fought a cold making statements like that. It really made me angry.

That's what they do. That's what they're good at. Running their traps. If it was now like it was back in the 18th century or before where a leader actually had to lead his soldiers in battle, do you think the Middle East would be such a battlefield? Or anywhere else for that matter? George W. Bush couldn't even make it in the National Guard, never mind actual military service. He was a cheerleader in college. Not even a pansy golfer! A cheerleader. It's been 3 years, but that guy still disgusts me so much. Though Obama isn't much better coming from the other side.

There's a lot of money to be made in war and fear. The students have been rioting over here because our current gov't has reneged on pre-election pledges and greatly increased the cost of University fees... and its actually working, highlighting the fact that the gov't are f***ing liars. The royal bullet and bomb proof limo was attacked ha ha :APPLAUSE: If it takes a riot to settle things, then a riot it is. Worked with the poll tax riots 20 years ago, i hate politicians. Turning nations against each other to line their own pockets.

The thing about wikileaks is that while I understand the reasoning behind it, some of the info that they leaked is IMHO will do more harm than good, especailly dealing with the Middle East. Now if he wants to release damning evendince of Wall Street Fraud I'm all for it the more we know about those greedy bastrads and bitches have done and are doing to rip us off the better we can figure out ways to stop them.

Seems to me if you're in a government position you shouldn't commit your bitchy comments about international officials to paper then spend all your time and other people's money trying to destroy one of the guys responsible for showing the world you're a dick. It kind of proves their point.

Governments should be afraid of the people, and instead of vowing to make themselves better and admit fault, everyone seems to think it'll be easier to crucify Julian than take a step back and realise what they're actually doing.

I heard a report a while back that all the reports that were leaked actually didn't cause any loss of life or threatened operatives in the field. Is it just as true now? No idea, but it does seem to me that people are overblowing things somewhat to cause sympathy and sway people to their side against Julian.

Same could be said of various patriots and politicians, both past and present. ;)

When asked about why they just don't release everything instead of in dribs and drabs is supposedly because they only release that which doesn't put people in harms way.
