Does anyone know how to measure light?

I'm doing a science project (due tomorrow) and I think I did something completely stupid. Is there any type of instrument that can measure how long light is trapped? Does anyone know how to do it? I'm trying to figure out how long light is trapped in between mirrors, and I just can't figure it out!!! I just need to know how to measure it, if you can at all.

Speed of light = 3 x 10^8

So measure the distance between the two mirrors (in meters) and divide that by 3x10^8 to find out how quickly light passes from one mirror to the other.

Of course that's in metric and in seconds, so hopefully that's of some help. It's been years since I've done physics

Thanks!!! This is the answer to all my problems!
