I'm not a Thundercats fan as I've probably watched two episodes but that looks great to me.

This looks pretty good. Is it supposed to be an anime? Lion-O's hair look like Goku's in other color...

I'm not really a Thundercats fan, but those redesigns really do look ****. Liono looks about as threatening as my pet cat and the rest are just as bad.

"But tight suits are so passé... and they make you look  "

Considering the age we're in now, I say the designs work.

I like the move to revamp the character designs of the characters...however, they do look too derivative. Panthro, for example, looks like he's Jet Black's long lost brother afflicted with furry syndrome.

I'm not complaining about the costumes so much, just more that Lion-o looks more like kitty-o. The old Lion-o looks like he'd rip the head off the new one and eat his entrails for tea.

Also, whats the deal with the new hair design? The old one looked like a mane, because, well....hes a lion, not Captain Loreal.

At a guess, this Lion-O is a teenager instead of an adult and we get a different backstory. I don't know, I think my childhood has been raped and the franchise will be RUINED FOREVER!

(someone had to say it). :P

Seriously, I kinda like the designs altho I'm not really feeling that Panthro. Hopefully it will be a good show, I'd like some new Thundercats figures.

Tygra looks like he's just walked out of Halo. Lion-o looks like he should be in a boy-band and Panthro looks like an old, furry Wolverine. It's good to see a new generation of kids will be confused by strange, lusty thoughts for a cartoon cat creature from space though.

Are we not getting Wily-kit and Wily-kat? How about Jaga, the first Thundercat to discover clothes?

Lolz.

Thundercats was a terrible show, and new look or not, I seriously doubt they could do worse than that monstrosity of a cartoon.

I am also wondering if that is the case.

Looks kool to me. I used to watch the original when I was a kid. I just hope there's no Snarf! What about Wiley Kitt and Katt?

Looks good to me. The only thing that would ruin it for me would be the voice actors...

According to the short news article I read about it yesterday, it is going to be done in an anime style. I'd have to do some serious fishing around to find where the article is to post the link.
I'm going to try to keep an open mind about this new version. I was rather hard on TFA because it was so different and I wound up liking it so I'm hoping that's the case with the new Thundercats. Although, after seeing the old pic of Lion-O and then seeing the new Lion-O, I'm having a really hard time with this. At least they didn't screw up Panthro's red & blue Nunchaku. They could haven totally screwed up the Sword of Omens but you just don't mess with a damn fine set of 'chucks like Panthro's. 8)

*edit* Did the digging, here's the article I found regarding the show.

O.k. I was slightly off. They didn't come out and say it was anime, they just made reference to an anime style.

I was never a fan of Thundercats but am willing to give this new version a go. Who knows maybe I will like it.

When I saw the picture it reminded me of something but I couldn't quite put it to something until you mentioned it, they all look like they kinda walked out of the Halo Legends cartoons.

That's because the animation and visuals are being handled by Studio 4°, one of the animation studios that worked on Halo Legends.
I have to say I'm kinda so-so on these designs, I had hoped for something closer to that Lion-Oh painting they showed us last year.

I don't mind most of the new look, but I don't really like Lion-O's 'teen' look. He looks way more intimidating in the older cartoons, how a guy who is based off of a lion should look.

Besides, why are they marketing all of this 'teen' crap? It's as if teens don't already have a bloated sense of importance, why do they have to feed it?

Shame on you for saying we're all like that! I'm fifteen, and I happen to be VERY humble!
Haha no, sadly I see evidence for your comment quite a bit...
Anyway, back on topic! I've been a fan of Thundercats my whole life, so I'm kinda biased, but I agree with pretty much everyone else about Lion-O being a little... lacking. Overall everyone's designs aren't bad, but they need to bring back his old hair at least. Plus they're gonna have to really work for it if they want the theme song to be as awesome as the original. I'm looking forward to it though!

Edit* Also, what's up with Panthro's eye?? x_o And Lion-O's should be red... Darn it, my inner perfectionist is starting to slip out!

I'm a fan of Thundercats, but as with many I can't quite see much to this version of Lion-o.

But from the face of it, I'm hoping that Panthro isn't some brain dead thug.
