Help to be a better boardsman

Hey guys,

I usually have a lighter mood to my posts, but this time is a more serious post. I, really and truly, feel like a square peg fitting into a circle hole, and I, unfortunately, was issued a warning recently. I know why I was issued one, and I want to fix it to make myself a better Boardsman. I want to be a good edition to this wonderful forum, but I feel like a detriment. What I'm really asking for is not an ear for my troubles, but advice to be better and not receive further warnings. I know most will say that this is a pointless post, call me a newb and give me a link to the forum rules. But I feel that advice from the people here on Seibertron and not a bunch of text will be more helpful to me. This forum has a happier place for me, and I hope that more time in the forum will be better for me to understand how to fit in. Its easier to change how you act, than to change others to fit your own views for a perfect forum. I believe I may have lost sight of that, and then made some dumb undeniable mistakes. Sometimes I need a pop on the head to see clearly, and I think that this warning is more of a tool used by Moderators or Administrators to get people to understand that the way a person acts, is wrong and uncalled for. Most of the PMs I have received from people, were from Mods or Admins. I wish to change things about both me, and the way people think about me, I hope that most of you can understand where I'm coming from, and offer advice.

Sincerely,

#Sideways#

I will admit that I found this to be a very strange post at first, but I think this might be able to help everyone.

I'm not sure what all has been going on with you and everyone else and I don't really care. I will say it is important to have manners on the net however.

The big thing you have to ask yourself is what are you personally doing that's getting you in trouble. Then, once you recognize the problem, you can work from there.

It a very basic step in life. Recognize your fault and strengths and continue to work on them.

My big piece of advice for anyone when they enter a thread is to post stuff that is going to actually add to the conversation. It part of the "Think before you post" thing. Be aware that your post can be read by quite a few people and you can very easily influence a discussion. I was just reading one not too long ago where one guy took a post out of context and viewed it as a personal attack when all the other person was doing was stating their opinion. If you're going to post, then be ready to handle a conversation with maturity and not like a 2 year old. Tone of lagnuage is key while communicating on the net.

I also think that spamming is just dumb. By spam, I'm referring to posts that don't add to a conversation, and are often one word posts. Those one drive me nuts.

Just chill. Sit back and READ. Post when you feel something meaningful can be added to a conversation.

Have a read of the rules.

Seriously, if you'd read them you wouldn't have been issued a warning.

As it stands, your sig is also in violation of our sig rules.

Read 'em, good way to stay out of trouble.

Oh and use smileys when making jokes. There are people around here who have humour lost on them if you don't use smileys.
