NFL 2010-2011 Season Discussion

Will the Saints repeat or is Drew Brees following in the footsteps of the Madden curse? Will the Colts make it to the Superbowl once again, or has the Manning Era passed? Will Tim Tebow become all what he is hyped up to be, or will the Broncos fail to make to make the playoffs for the fourth time in a row? How many fines will Terrell Owens and Chad Ochocinco receive this year in Cincinnati? Is Favre coming out of retirement again?

Who are you cheering for? Who's going to get Madden 11? Who's ready for some Fantasy Football? (The Seibertron.com Fantasy Football League is here, who's the main commissioner because I can't seem to renew!)

You've got to love the NFL, one of the shortest seasons in professional sports but every weekend it provides limitless drama and celebration. Talk about the NFL 2010-2011 season here. It start September 9th!

Curse.

Will the Colts make it to the Superbowl once again, or has the Manning Era passed?

The Manning Era hasn't passed. but the Colts aren't going back.
Super Bowl XLV: Titans or Jets vs. Vikings or Giants

Will Tim Tebow become all what he is hyped up to be, or will the Broncos fail to make to make the playoffs for the fourth time in a row?

Tebow is good, and will be great with another team, but the Broncos just suck.

How many fines will Terrell Owens and Chad Ochocinco get?

Who cares? Let them starts catching decent passes first. I feel bad for Carson Palmer.

Is Favre coming out of retirement again?

I hope so.

Who are you cheering for?

J!E!T!S!

Who's going to get Madden 11?

Not me. I have not owned nor played any of the Madden games. Ever.

I do like the NFL. Not better than NASCAR though.

yes :P
Will the Colts make it to the Superbowl once again, or has the Manning Era passed?

I think Manning is still one of the best but I don't see them heading to Dallas in February.

Will Tim Tebow become all what he is hyped up to be, or will the Broncos fail to make to make the playoffs for the fourth time in a row?

Tebow will be a good QB giving time. I still think he will start by seasons end. I don't see it being enough for the Broncos to make it to the post-season tho.

How many fines will Terrell Owens and Chad Ochocinco get?

Honestly could care less. The idea of To and CO together was somewhat intriguing to me at one point but then they opened their months and that went away pretty quick.

Is Favre coming out of retirement again?

Not sure but I don't believe anything he has to say. I will only believe him to be retired once the 2010 season is over.

Who are you cheering for?

Bucs. Yes I know not much to cheer for last year but I think they will surprise some people this season.

SOOOOOOO looking forward to this season.

Are you ready for some FOOTBALL?!?!?

Don't see a repeat. However, I'd be pleasantly suprised if they did!

Blurrz wrote:Will the Colts make it to the Superbowl once again, or has the Manning Era passed?

Good question. It all depends on the COlts running game. If someone is there to run the ball well behind Peyton, they will be good again. But then again, that O Line is getting older.
Blurrz wrote: Will Tim Tebow become all what he is hyped up to be, or will the Broncos fail to make to make the playoffs for the fourth time in a row?

Another good question. Can we really make a judgement this early or should we wait five years for him to show us what hes got? I say give him time.

Blurrz wrote:How many fines will Terrell Owens and Chad Ochocinco receive this year in Cincinnati?

I don't know, but I'm betting it's either 81 or 85.

Blurrz wrote:Is Favre coming out of retirement again?[color=teal]

I don't think he technically retired this time. I think he just hasn't decided whether he's coming back. I agree with AC though...I won't believe it until I see it and he's sat out the entire season.

Blurrz wrote:[color=teal]Who are you cheering for?[color=teal]

Da Bears...for all the good it'll do me...and whoever is playing against the Packers and the Cowboys.

Blurrz wrote:[color=teal]Who's going to get Madden 11?[color=teal]

Probably not. Much more interest in NHL 11. Unless we're going to have an official Seibertron league...which would ROCK.

Blurrz wrote:[color=teal] Who's ready for some Fantasy Football? (The Seibertron.com Fantasy Football League is here, who's the main commissioner because I can't seem to renew!)[color=teal]

Count me in on that action! Hopefully we're have a draft on a day I'm NOT working this year!

Blurrz wrote:[color=teal]You've got to love the NFL, one of the shortest seasons in professional sports but every weekend it provides limitless drama and celebration!

Amen. I've survived the whole summer without watching baseball (couldn't stand to watch my Cubbies)...thank God the Blackhawks played as late as they did! But just don't compare NASCAR with the NFL. If you start the NASCAR drivers as athletes argument, I'll point at Tony Stewart- who has more chins than a Chinese phone book- and say, "Okay, so he one of your sport's best athletes?" The NFL is king right now. And it's time to celebrate it. Sooner or later it'll be official: it's gonna be the moment I see Ed Hochuli and his bulging biceps on the field of play calling a first down in that way that only he can.

LET'S GET THIS SEASON STARTED! I AM READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL!!!!

I think you hit everything on the head pretty much. Chicago might do some good as well though.

Favre will be back. He is too tough not to. I don't know if the Vikings will get back to the top like last season though. If they do, the Jets will be there and win the Superbowl.

I thought I was the only one in the world that has never and will likely never in the future play a Madden game. Kudos to you.

I am rooting for the Vikings even though I don't see it happening.

You should know who I am pulling for..
If they repeat it will be so sweet.. If they don't I am happy with their win last year (they finally won it so that monkey is off their back)..

Saints vs Bengals Superbowl matchup

Kind of hard to make a call with it only being one game into the pre season... LOL

Browns and Bengals, yeah. Jaguars are despised. Titans rule.

And I wouldn't mind seeing the Saints repeat. It would prove they're not a fluke like the Colts and Giants were a few years ago.

Winning one does not mean that a team is a fluke..

If so that means that the

Buccaneers
Bears
Ravens
Rams

Are all fluke teams.

The Giants have a total of 3 SB wins in their history
Colts have 3 SB wins as well.

Why is it always when the Saints do something, if they can't repeat it automatically it is considered a fluke? Did they say that the 85 Bears were a fluke? NO.

The 1985 Bears are regarded by most experts as the greatest football team ever assembled. No fluke there. The last Bears team to make the Super Bowl WAS a fluke though.

I meant no disrespect, and I didn't mean to downplay their accomplishments. Though "fluke" is a word that does just that, it was the wrong word. One hit wonder might be a better phrase? I don't know.

If so that means that the

Buccaneers
Bears
Ravens
Rams

They all have 1 win. So they are. As are Favre's Packers and Steve Young's 49ers. Just because a franchise has more than 1 win doesn't mean they came the same way from the same people. The 66-67 Packers were a lot different than the 90s team. The 85 Bears were much different than the 06 Bears. I do believe that the 86 Giants were the best team to step on a Super Bowl field, but the Bears were close with all that talent. (Wow, you think Lawrence Taylor could have stopped The Fridge at the goal line back then...?)

But anyway, I wasn't talking down on the Saints. I was very happy they won. Not just because I don't like the Colts, but because Drew Brees deserves something for all the work he puts in along with most of the other guys, and the people of Louisiana, if not just New Orleans, deserved something uplifting like that. It was great that LSU stomped Ohio State a couple of years ago, but now they got NFL bragging rights.

I know it was a preseason game, but DAMN Indianapolis! WTF was THAT last night? How could you let the Packers almost drop 60 points on you?

Also, it looks like Derek Anderson may have beaten out Matt Leinert for the starting job in Arizona. Curious to hear Cardinal fans' thoughts on that...

I'm calling it right here and now: the Bears will be 3-13 this year.

BTW, has the fantasy league started up at all? If anyone is interested, I have a few slots open in my league...otherwise, I want in to the Seibertron league... :D

Besides, I lived in Northeast Ohio for 13 years. I have no choice.
