I think a reboot is the only thing that would get me into a theater showing Spiderman after the last atrocity...

I wish they just went along with a Spider-man 4, this just looks stupid.

Trust me, Rami's Sider-Man movies were more than capable of rebounding. Reboots are not always the answer. Spider-man had only one bad film whereas Batman got progressively worse and wasn't about to get any better.
I'm hating the new outfit. The previous one was more faithful to the comics, without only minor differences.

100%. Malkovich as the Vulture. HOW COULD THEY PASS THAT UP??? Whatever Sony exec passed that up becaues Raimi didn't think he could get #4 done on their timeline needs a good shot to the head for that one.
First image looks fine. The rest look almost like a posable figure. But I'll stick it out and see how it goes.

The pictures
here are... strange. I dare say borderline NSFW, if just for sheer absurd WTF-ery.

The new suit looks cheap, I do like the old one better. I just hope Spider-Man makes wise cracks like he is supposed to, the only time he did that in the movies was when he was fighting Bonesaw. Hopefully the series will do well and when they get to Venom they won't spectacularly screw that up. Who's the villain in this one, have they released that info yet?

I edited this to keep multiple threads from popping up.
Some good news if you are a fan of the Rami Web series..
http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/ ... s/?a=30382inside the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly, the Executive producer Avi Arad makes the assumption that Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man film won't stray from the Sam Rami-directed trilogy.
"Exec producer Avi Arad says the film won't erase what came before but will try to weave a narrative that could take place within the framework of the earlier films. 'It's not a comeback,' he says. 'You have to look at it this way: Do you want to know more about Spider-Man? This movie is going to tell stories that you didn’t see in movies 1, 2, and 3."

So they're not going to re-tell the origin story?
THANK GOODNESS!!!! Sitting through the origin again was one thing I was dreading about the new film. It's not that it's a bad origin, but I figure everyone and there brother knows it, and the first film did a good job of telling it, so why rehash it?
But hmm, if it doesnt' erase everything else maybe that means that Lizard(who's rumored to be in the film) can have some relavance instead of being "guy who lives in Florida that Spidey doesn't know" like he was in the original comic.

Assuming they follow from the earlier films as stated by Mr. Arad, Lizard's human alter-ego Dr. Kurt Connors was seen in Spider-Man 2 and Spider-Man 3 as Peter's university Professor.
So it should not be as random as the original comic.
I'm still not sure how this film is going to turn out though.
And while I thought Spider-Man 3 wasn't as good as 1 and 2, its not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. Sure it needed to focus on either Venom or Sandman and not both as that was a little too much. But it wasn't all that terrible.
It just looked really bad, because it was nowhere near the first 2, so it was a stark difference.
