I just don't know how to properly react to this, so I'll leave it to all of you guys instead:
http://www.shortpacked.com/2011/comic/book-13/01-daddy-issues/motormaster/I don't condone jabs like this, especially around a subject this touchy (in this case BotCon Animated Stunticons), but I'm not against them either as long as its done in good fun. What do you guys think? And please no flames, this thread isn't fire-retardant yet.

I had a comment. It would have been fricking hilarious. But as a mod, I must bow out.

I saw the strip, but I didn't realize it was a shot at Seibertron. Can anyone show me where the basis for this came from? One of the comments mentioned the news being biased, but a search only netted me one relevant news post, and it wasn't biased at all.

Well, time for me to go and curse people out again.

In the last panel, there is a banner being held up between the racks of bikes. It's the Banner Ryan had on the home page for a little while, comparing Botcon Motormaster with the shooped Wreck-Gar Motormaster.

Pft, you don't have to bow out.
Walky, who for years, has been one of the most vocal people in the fandom is taking offense at this?
What's funny, is that even he isn't happy with how Motormaster turned out. Whether you wanted Prime or Wreck-gar, no one thought it was going to be another black Prime mold to represent Motormaster. The point of his comic is that despite his feelings and despite that perhaps FP should be called out on this choice, he is going to argue for it for the sake of being contrarian.
Also, he takes potshots at all the other TF websites, well, ok...Seibs, TFW, and sometimes TFormers. (never AllSpark since that's his home) Last year it was TFW that he took a little shot at. Never will he deal with things in the fandom directly, it will always be like this, a little potshot via his own website, where his own supporters will be there to reinforce how great the idea was. Just to be fair on the matter in regards to my comments here...if you've read this and take offense to it, whomever you are...PM me or send me some email at iLoveCounterpunch @ seibertron.com and we'll chat it right up.
Anyway...
So, it's obvious that BotCon isn't going to wither and die like it was perhaps going to 5 years ago. At what point can the choices made in regards to the convention be opened up for a harsher public scrutiny? The golden egg isn't going to shatter any more. Is the only means of providing feedback on the toys to attend the convention and fill out the paperwork there?

I did! I just didn't post it.
Anyway, I don't see how this is a shot directed at us (Which is another point in my life where I am agreeing with Counterpunch.), he is just taking a shot at the negative fandom. Which means
everybody. I can see how it came across that way, using Seibertron's banner and all, but I think it's just directed to all negative fandom.

I spose not. But I feel kind of bad picking on someone you could put in your pocket...

And this is one of the many reasons I can't stand him. Still, he's funnier than Lil' Formers.
Meh, if Willis decided to walk away one day, I won't shed a tear. I might party, but that's about it.

I'm not surprised.
Anyways, I think it's kind of funny minus the Seibertron stab.

No need to even fuel the fire. I'd just leave it alone. The more fuel it's given from site members the more we'll see stuff like this. Don't get heated and just let it go.
As Burn said, if you do go on a sailor's mouth rampage then don't mention Seibertron.

Revenge for what? Why do you need to do anything? Why does anyone need to do anything?
Did you stop to think that he did this to get someone like you to bite? The best thing to do in this situation IS TO IGNORE IT!
You think this is the first time another site has responded in a negative-esque way regarding the recent Motormaster stuff? It's not. There are threads on other sites about it. Are you going to go to them too and sprout off?
No, you're going to walk away and leave it. If people are that narrow minded to attack or take a poke at this site because of one little news article, then they're not worth wasting the time on.

Isn't that the whole irony with the fandom? Besides, who actually gives a toss what he thinks? I don't!

I get the comic, but I just don't see that image fitting well on a banner hanging in a store.
If he'd been looking at a computer and the site popped up that image, it'd make more sense.
Just my constructive criticism.

^Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. A banner complaining about toys in a toy store sounds like the toy companies are complaining --which doesn't make a lick of sense.
Unless the toy store is taking a stand on the topic, but that's the pot calling the kettle black, isn't it?

Logic? On the internet? No.
Truth of the matter is, we're just the target this week. He'll go after someone else.

All right, what's everyone getting so mad about now? Ryan put up that banner on the site. Walky was making fun of it. Now everyone's sending their ego into overdrive because of it, ignoring that the banner deserved to be made fun of. Opinion pieces aren't supposed to be made into big banners on the front of the site.

Who cares?
There's nothing that's very mean spirited about Walky's strip and Ryan also has every right to put up banner's like that one on his website. I have trouble fathoming how people can be so preoccupied with complaining about whatever Shortpacked! or Seibertron's done this week. So much else one could be doing instead.

As above. Who freaking cares? Walky's a dickhead and seibertron's a website full of grown men whinging about toys.
Get some perspective people. It wasn't even a clever jab.

Getting revved up because of that comic honestly just feels like feeding the whole basis of what the strip was seemingly trying to point out. That regardless of what anyone feels about a figure/movie/exclusive that overly opinionated posts/rants/tirades by people can change the opinion of others and not always in the way the ranter was going for.
I honest saw it as a jab at fandom in general, with him using that image as it was convenient. Had it been posted on another site than Seibertron, I expect it still would have been used.

Didn't even bother reading the other posts once I got to this. All the words of wisdom and reason we need are all right here.
Personally, I just chuckled when I saw that short comic. I mean, yeah he did snag the visual in the last panel from this site but I do have to admit that I thought that what was posted on the sites main page briefly was a bit harsh towards the folks at BotCon. I didn't think it was really appropriate for this site to do that but it's not my site, it's not my call, and it's just...not...that...important.
I could go to Emerald City Comic-Con right now and either shake hands with the guy who did the comic or spit in his face and I'm not going to do either. The only folks I will get pissy with are those of you who DO go out of your way to antagonize this bloke. We don't need our fandom or this site represented in that way.

This very well may have been the case, and may be why they had a 'real' store banner as opposed to a website banner in the comic.

All those who got upset about this, I'm laughing at you. He did it just to get a rise out of most fans. We can't call him a liar, though. I also disagreed with Ryan about Wreck-Gar being a better mold for Motormaster. I think Prime is just fine as the mold, regardless of it being just another re-coloring of the same thing. It's still better than Wreck-Gar. My first choice would have been Ultra Magnus, but this is 2nd best.
