If you're reading this reply I'm taking a survey in a way to see when people are roving the forums.
Tired of waiting for days for a reply.

I'm a little confused with this, do you actually need us to reply to the post for the purposes survey or not?
If you don't need a reply, then I humbly apologize.

Yes, we do reply. He just didn't have any punctuation, so we got cofused. As for the question, i don't really worry about getting replies.

While I commend your efforts I'm afraid you'll find that the response-to-view ratio is going to be way off. Even with the most polite and artfully crafted request you can come up with, a lot of folks on here simply wont take the time to respond if it doesn't catch their interest. You'd have better luck watching the "who's browsing" section in the lower left corner and catching some of the familiar names if you have a question. I would still encourage making a general post regardless of who's online if you do have a question. Some of us browse but don't always log-in unless we are actually ready to speak our minds, therefore we only show up as "guest" in the bottom left corner.
I wish you luck in your endeavor and I'm curious to see what kind of final results you get.

This is already biased based on posters vs. lurkers
I think this might be better served as a poll, but once again, I find myself unable to do that for you. I'm going to have to ask Ryan about it.

I reply, not to many topics, even tho I tend to try and read them all (well, in General and Toys, anyways)
Even if I have nothing to add to the discussion, reading others opinions is still good.

Honestly, I barely reply to topics anymore. The only reason I still come to the site is because of the two name games and the mosaics.

I normally only reply when I feel I have something relavant to add to the conversation, and even then I sometimes close the window before posting.

When you start using punctuation and capitalization, I'll start ordering people to reply to your threads.

I know it's frustrating when you feel like you're talking to a wall, whether it be in on the messageboards or in a "real life" situation.
As someone who's been here for a while, let me offer some insight.
For one thing, "lurkers" are always going to be a big part of any board's viewing level. At the last few BotCons I've had many occasions when I was with my fellow "Seibertronians" where someone came up to us and saw our Seibertron.com T-shirts and said how much they loved the site. Many times, they weren't regular posters or even "registered users." This isn't unique to Seibertron.com - a lot of people like seeing what people are talking about but for whatever reason just don't want to insert themselves into the conversations.
Another thing is that even though we are all united in our love of Transformers, what's interesting and important to one person is very different than what's interesting and important to the next person. To use an example, Razorclaw0000 is one of my best friends on this board. I have also met him outside of the board. He's a great guy and a lot of fun to be around. As far as how we look at TF collecting though, we are very different. For instance, when the recent exclusive movieverse 2-packs hit Walmarts and Targets last year, he was one of the first to scoop them up. I passed them up, even when they hit clearance. One of the top figures on his wantlist is the ultra rare Shining Unicron whereas I am content with my Energon version. Those are just small examples but really, no 2 Transformers fans are the same. I could go on and on, but the bottomline is we all look at things differently.
I can't tell you how many times I started a topic here that I was expecting a ton of replies on and ended up with few or none. There have also been many times where I have made a passing comment and got a lot of positive feedback on it and also a ton of replies. When I was on the news crew, there were also times where I debated whether or not to even run a story and it suddenly became a hot topic. On the other hand, some of the stories I posted that were personally very interesting to me didn't seem to generate a lot of views/replies.
I'll say this much. If you hang around here long enough, are respectful and do your best to express your thoughts in an intelligent manner people will read your posts. Will they always agree with you? Absolutely not. Will they reply as much as you'd like or in the manner you like? Maybe not. Still, Seibertron.com is still a great place for TF discussion and I hope you'll keep posting.

To those who pointed out my lack of finesse in my posts. (punctuation, capitalizing)
Thank you for the reminder. Now that I know that its a problem I will edit all my posts to satisfy the standard of literacy. To be honest though, I write these in between my CAD projects while I'm in class.

Ok done with editing every single post I've sent to comply with user requests. It took an hour but the deed is done. But it ain't helping much. I'll give it time.
(
I know that it wont make a real difference. But they had some point. still...) Sorry for the confusion.

I frequently follow other peoples conversations and check if they've added new replies to one another, but I often avoid posting until I've seen several other opinions first, then reply if I think there's something to say.I try to read everything as well but it depends on my schedule.

Me too. It seems like there's not as much of a point as there used to be. I miss the old days of conversation, nowadays it's mainly argueing as far as I see.
But then again, my interests are waning. Toy-wise I've seemingly got done with Transformers, I don't like the ongoing comic and I cannot wait for the third movie to be over. And then, for not loving the current events, you're chastized and yelled at.
I fear we'll get to that "only the group of us who met up at Botcon are 'real fans/Seibertronians'" place, and that will end it for me. We're not there yet, and I hope we never get there, but it makes me worry.
I still check in once a week or so though, and I miss some posters.
