Well, first you have to sacrifice a goat.

Then you have to get Counterpunch any Minicon's he's currently missing

Next, you have to own at least 500 Transformers. 1000 is preferred

After that, you need to go sacrifice a chicken to Cuthlu

Then, you need to win a debate against Shadowman

Now this part is important: You need need to get me a burger. Preferably a double whopper from Burger king

After you've done all of this, you will then have to wrestle Cyber Bishop and based on how awesome your moves are he will then discuss with the rest of the staff whether or not you join.

In all seriousness, you don't ask. It just kind of happens. Just go about your normal life and maybe one day you'll get a PM about it.

Back in the day, the only requirement was that you were never allowed to ask to become one. If you did that, you would never get to be a mod.

Now we go by midichlorian count...

I think it was right around 9/11, I asked Ryan if I could be a mod. A week later, I joined the Mod Squad.

The site 10 years ago was a much different site. Instead of focusing on toy galleries, the site focused on screen captures. Also, avatars were only available to those who reached 2500 posts. I was the first to get one.

It's harder or easier than it sounds. Depends on the subject. And my caffeine level...And let's be honest, how far my head is lodged up my ass at the time.

This is actually the hidden part of the debate against you that he wasn't supposed to know.

Like how I have vague memories regarding my initiation into the answerers crew. All I remember are foggy images of a latte and a flat tire iron.

Good thing you don't remember the rubber gloves otherwise this was going to be a very awkward thread.

LOL at the responses.

This is how it works,

1) Do not ask (you ask and you have less of a chance to be considered)
2) We (staff) look at potential candidates throughout the year when and if we need a new news crew member(users that post a lot of news).
3) We debate it and decide the right candidate

Well its a good thing I'm not asking! :D

Wow, this is the most amont of people that have ever posted in a thread I have made!

Hey, Shadowman, did I win that debate about Arcee toys? You never replied...

Nah, we both won, for the only purpose of debates is to destroy the other person's opinion and shove your own into replacement.

I see a debate about that statement springing up...

Oh, another thing, is Matrix Keeper another type of Mod? Or does it show how many posts you have?

Hmmm, perhaps I could make a thread about "Boardsman From The Pit" where Mods sharr their horror stories about the worst boardsman they had ever met.

Watch them all be about me. :tounge:

Does anyone know all the post count ranks? I've been curious about that since...forever.

I thought to get an avatar back then you had to have 5,000 posts and that Roddy was the first one to get an avatar. :P  ;)

On the sites that I've been a mod on, it usally helps to have a good standing with the staff and the community and be able work and play well with others because nobody wants an egoistically asshole as a mod or God forbid an admin.

You have to be loyal to the site and be willing to put in a lot a time in the community and help the site.

Now most sites that I've been a mod at you have to ask to be a mod. This is the ONLY site where not asking is a way to get to be a mod. It's not a bad thing mind you but this is only one that I know of.

Being an admin the easist way is too create your own board. :P

Which is why I created my own forum, because then it doesn't matter what anyone wants.

Yeah, taking shots at myself twice in one thread. If I set myself on fire I leave nothing for the enemy!

I wish I could become part of this exclusive group with CP, but I'm too nice most of the time. :-(

Had to give up my left nut. And all I got was this green username text and no fulfillment of the promise of Erica Campbell. Shucks.

What happened to your yacht priveleges?

I remember when the mod classifications had different colors associated with them. Now it's a universal green.

She retired.

We moved onto other obsessions.

Like Angela White.

I'm fairly sure I joined by peer pressure.

Are we allowed to talk about the hazing rituals in this thread, because man those were hilariously humiliating while still being educational.

Looks like I'll make God of Transformers in about... 16 years. Great.

I have no idea, but its A-OK with me. For hilarity's sake. ;)

I need a good laugh.

By the way, why don't you have the green coloring for your name?

And speaking of green colors for names, why does Cryhavoc have dark green for his name, and Seibertron has light green like everyone else?

Lets see... If you get to be God of All Transformers in 16 years... That would make the amount of years for me to get there...?

Mkall retired from staff a year ago. We're all dark green, don't know what you're seeing there. RPG Moderators are light green.

A few years ago it used to be;

Orange - News Crew
Red - News Admin
Purple - HMW Moderator
Dark Red - Administrator

Then the threat of the Black Lanterns was too great and we formed the Green Lantern Corps.

This:

Huh, It must have changed after I posted.

You know, the old colors might not be bad. ;)
