Trying to remember older movie

I believe its from the 80's.

It was about two brothers that run away from home or something to that affect.

One of the brothers, the younger one I believe, was convinced by his older brother that he was some sort of robot or cyborg.

At one point in the movie they are on a plane and the older brother is trying to prove that the younger brother is a robot and he tells him to chew on foil and if it sparks he is a robot.and it sparks.

I have been trying to remember this movie because it was one of my favorites growing up and I can't remember the title for the life of me!

The Wizard

I remember the movie, it was when Nintendo announced Super Mario Bros 3.

That's what my dad too, I just don't remember seeing Christian Slater in it, or even Nintendo being involved at all

Christian Slater was in it? The hell.

But I'm pretty sure thats the movie you're thinking of. The brothers run away to the video game tournament, the older brother tells the younger that his parents don't love him, all that stuff, because he's a cyborg, and has him do the tin-foil gum wrapper test.

I don't think Christian Slater was in it a whole lot. I remember Fred Savage being in it though.

I'm going to have to rent it or even buy it if it's cheap enough because if its not the movie my dad still likes The Wizard and I can give it him.

I hope it's the movie.

Thanks for the help

You know what I remember?

The total animosity and hatred I had for Nintendo for having me sit through an hour and a half long commercial, and completely building my excitment to undescribably epic proportions, only to have me waste a good Christmas gift from mom on what had to be the biggest piece of **** letdown of the century.

The power glove.

"I love the power glove. Its so bad."

Lucas was a pimp.

...and yes, Christian Slater was in the movie. I think he was Beau Bridges (Fred Savage's dad) brother or something like that.

i got one of those, tried to play metroid with it. impossible. you couldn't even get punch out to work right with it. my dad was so pissed cuz we quite playing with it after 2 days. he tried, said "f' this" and that was the last of the glove. it ended up at the pawn shop i think.
