Great! I was hoping someone woudl start a thread here about this. I wasn't sure if I wanted to see it, as I didn't know enough about it to want to pay 9$ for it. But I think I'll go.

And yeah, there's some good movies out and coming. I'm looking forward to Capt. America!

Haven't seen it yet, heard comparisons to Cloverfield, which I loved. And I lived in a small town in Ohio for 12 years.

The only real comparison for Cloverfield is the brief views of the monster until the "big reveal"..

I found this online and saved it to my comp, it is from the scene on the bus and the first real look we get of the creature.. You get a better look at it later on though.

I was also under the impression it was shot in a similar frantic style.

Nope, it is a normal movie. The title comes from the film it was shot on.

Ah. I'm still going to see it, looks fun. And I thought Abrams did very good with Star Trek.

It looks more like a spider. You see the entire thing at the end. You only see its arms and face in the bus scene.

SUPER 8 is my favorite movie of all time.

Seriously, it's that awesome.

This vid reveals some pics of the alien, though only the first one is remotely similar.

Love this movie. Reminds me a bit of Spielberg's work, like the Goonies or E.T. Almost want to say it's like if Spielberg did Cloverfield, but it doesn't have that much focus on actually filming it.

WOW you got all that from the teaser trailer??

I love bad movies(They live, maximum overdrive, Transmorphers, alien vs hunter, ect). watch enough, and you can see the signs.

also, its J.J. Abrams. I've seen enough of his work to know some general info. granted there is a slim chance he will not do the same things he does in every other thing he's done, but his stuff is kinda like M. NIght shamalamadingdong. what a twist!

You like Transmorphers and AVH?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? I may now have to hunt you down and kill you. Those are the two WORST movies of all time, and according to IMDB, AVH actually is.

They Live was good though.

I went and saw it a few days ago and I liked it. Since it was an Abrams' film, there was an overuse of lens flare and the creature did look a little bit like a small version of the Cloverfield monster, but the cast did a wonderful job. The actors were realistic and I felt like it was a real-life town of real-life people. The "extras" even acted like normal people and I enjoyed seeing that in a movie.

Bad b movies are a hobby of mine. I've watched almost every movie by "Troma" (Nuke 'em high, toxic avenger series, Redneck Zombies, ect)

AVH doesn't even count as a bad B movie. It's so bad, It doesn't even make that list.

And yeah, I've seen just about every B-Movie ever. Killer Klowns from Outer Space (absolutely frickin awesome!!!), the Day the Earth Stopped, War of the Worlds 2, Komodo vs. Cobra, The Megashark series, etc.

I tried to watch Toxic Avenger, but got grossed out within the first ten minutes.
