Do theaters nowadays use the old make-you-want-to-throw-up-3D-glasses that are red and blue? Or the fancy smancy clear ones 8) ? I may go to the 3D and norm, but I want to know: should I?

red and green is so old tech, of course the new movies are using the new clear glasses.

From what I understand, James Cameron used a different kind of 3D filming for his movie Avatar that is more or less the industry norm now, though I'm not sure if he was the one that pioneered it or not. If my understanding is correct, instead of red and blue it actually uses a green/violet shift that's less jarring for the viewer.

However, having only one eye, I can't really speak to how well it works. I just heard a bit of trivia about the technology in passing.
