Depp and Rush back for more Pirates

Those "Pirates of the Caribbean 4" rumours just ramped up a bit with a report from Cinema Blend suggesting that sequel number three isn't just a possibility, it's a certainity.

Johnny Depp and Geoffrey Rush will return for the next film - nobody else from the original three films will return as the series will now center on Jack Sparrow, played by Depp, says the site - with Gore Verbinski slated to again direct.

The site's scooper says that the next film could be an out-and-out-science fiction film. "Some of the brainstorming going around involves some Jules Verne type of scenarios involving some pretty big flying machines, a man who wants to rule more than just the ocean, a encounter with the most famous and dangerous pirate of all, a race to get to a lost world (Hint, Hint) and Jack and his crew going to where no pirate has gone before".

So I assume that means Atlantis?

The site's scooper says to expect the film in either 2009 or 2010.

I am a sci-fi guy, but too much sci-fi futuristic stuff in a Pirates-themed might be bad. Not saying that no sci-fi is the way to go, since Davy Jones and his crew are what I like most about this movie series, but I'm going to hold any judgment for when we hear more.

And that is that writer ASSUMING that the new place is Atlantis, it may still be about the Fountain of Youth though.

I'm all for more Captain Jack and Barbosa. Those are great characters. I could do with less dragging at the beginning of the movie though.

atlantis maybe be a good one, but i dont want to see atlantis i mean theyve already made an atlantis movie. and for some reason the atlantis charaters look very similar to real actors. just look at the movie and see for yourself.on the other hand the foutain of youth maybe a good one. maybe have them travel to the US and they get accidently attack by the army nah never mind that would suck. well in my imagination it did.

Walking talking skeletons and guys with fish on their faces and an old ship that can dive underwater and surface like a modern day sub is all very beleieveable but an airplane or airship is what is gonna ruin it for you?

I knew there was a final scene after the credits, but me and my friends decided to leave during the credits. What exactly happened in that last scene?

It was 10 years later and Elizabeth goes to a cliff overlooking the sea with a child then over the horizon a green light explodes then it shows the Flying Dutchman with Will Turner as it's captain coming to see his wife and child He will be able to set foot on land because its been 10 years since he last did

A) I assumed when they said "Lost World" they meant The Lost World of Conan Doyle.

B) Would the fountain of youth (something which confers immortality) not be surrounded by creatures that should have been long dead?

If they should find the fountain of youth(if that story is used)Could you imagine Sparrow and Barbosa living in Florida and owning a business circa 2009
