I went through 5 pages and am surprised to not see a thread on this.

Kate Beckinsale returns as everyone's favorite Death Dealer Selene in this fourth installment of the popular series.
The vampire warrioress Selene, escapes imprisonment to find herself in a world where humans have discovered the existence of both Vampire and Lycan clans and are conducting an all-out war to eradicate both immortal species.

The summary doesn't mention that once she has escaped, hopefully we find out how she was captured, she begins a quest to also find her 10/11 yr old daughter.

I'm very much looking forward to this. It's my first "Must See Movie" of 2012!!

Wait a minute.... At the end of the second one they killed both brothers, the original vampire and lycan, pretty much turning the lycans and vampires human again.

The reason I come to this conclusion is based off of both Selene and the guy that was the vamp/wolf hybrid both became normal again, because Selene stood in sunlight, her eyes turned back to their original color and her fangs were gone. The vamp/wolf hybrid also changed back to normal as soon as the brothers were dead. So if they were changed back wouldn't all the others change back as well?

I mean I'm not complaining about seeing Kate Beckinsale in that skin tight leather outfit again but they're pretty much ignoring the ending of the second movie.

I'm simply not a fan of these movies,I even watched all of them thus far.

The thing I hate most about these movies. is all the excuses & lies they make up. to fit in the newer movies plot. example: "oh he wasn't the most powerful vampire he was lying,i'm the most powerful vampire."

William was the first werewolf, but was permanently stuck in werewolf form. Lycans evolved from him. They being the werewolves that could change at will.

Selene is unique. She drank the blood of the man who was the father of the 2 that originated the lycan and vampire races. She incorporated into herself the blood of an immortal. The pure essence made her immune to light. Also, look at her mouth in the movies, the fangs don't reveal themselves unless needed.

I forget his name at the moment, but the vamp/wolf hybrid can change at will just like a lycan. Since there was no need for combat after the brothers died, he changed back.

Remember, this isn't like Anne Rice's Vampire chronicles where all the members of a supernatural species are linked to the originator. The focus here is more DNA based.

The response to the film has been great so far.
It won the weekend and has stayed ontop in the weekday totals as well.
It's current domestic tally is $29.5m with a worldwide total of $42.9m

Be curious to see the response for The Grey vs UA's second weekend.
They will have similar theater counts. Will WOM give UA a good second weekend and if anticipation is low for Grey could it win the weekend?

Anybody else gotten out to this flick? It's a fun film that I'm going to check out again with a friend who hasn't been able to yet. I told him "Hey, it's that fun enough of a film to see again". The action in the film, especially with Kate breaking out in the start and the finale make it an easy theater rewatch.

Going into it's third weekend and having finished two full weeks at the box office Underworld Awakening has pulled in a domestic total of $48.7m and a worldwide total of $88.7m.
Being SuperBowl weekend this film is likely to be hit hard as it's audience is mostly going to be watching football. The Grey, Haywire and Chronicle(opening new) will also be affected I'd think.
