England closed?

This is probably of no interest to the majority, but snow day!
Looking out the window here, I can see 5cm of snow blanketing everything. And according to the MET office, we'll have four foot by lunch time.

So all Schools in Birmingham, Dudley and Solihull ( and some in Herefordshire) are closed. Get out there and enjoy the snow!

How's the snow affecting you day?

EDIT:- The safety council has advised against travelling, so I guess this sortta means that England's closed for business! :P

We have a inch or two at my house today in Sheffield. It's looking good so far, shame it's not enough to cover on the major roads in and around Eccelsall. But enough for me to snowball Tony my next door neighbour as he tried to make a run for his car this morning laughing like a little girl.

I heard on the radio that we should not drive as conditions will get worse, unless of course it was absolutely necessary. I tried that excuse with my boss but for some unknown reason he said he'd been waiting for my call and that exact excuse, he then told me to get my arse into work and laughed at me

Good lord. How do you go from 2 inches of snow to four feet of it in less than 12 hours?!

By magic my friend, by magic.

It's now 6:06, and the snow is pretty deep. No sign of it shifting. Roads to the village blocked. No new tfs at home.
Made 1 snowman of 6 feet, and 1 of less than a foot- he's a ninja snowman! :P

Might have to stay home tomorrow too, and then it's half term! Such a shame...

Despite the poopy weather, I still managed my 13 mile commute to work utilising 3 methods of public transport (or only which 1 was delayed), and some of our Sheffield based guys even got all the way down to London for some meetings.

Five centimeters? I wish we'd get closed for that. But since they know that there would be four feet later, that's probably the reason it's closed.

For some reason, I imagine Tony Blair, in full suit and a scarf, making snow angels, and having a snowball fight with the Parliament.

Because I am the only American who can imagine Tony Blair.

Tsk Tsk, Shadowman!

Mr Blair would never bring himself to that level.

I'll have you know that he's probably drinking tea with the Queen in her Royal Snow Fort right this very moment.
