Newest addition to help power the Yamaha.

I genuinely fear what damage my girlfriend could do if she used it on her Boosey.

My latest acquisition.

Besson Class A Prototype Cornet, circa 1917-1921. Only one slide is stuck, valves need a good oiling.

For some reason there was a felt that goes around valve keys stuffed into the end of the shank, definitely didn't come from this Cornet (it has cork around the valve shafts).

Time to give it a good clean up!

That is going to be a fun cleaning project, but a great new instrument!

I started around 1:30pm, finished just before 6:30pm with a break to watch The Walking Dead.

The only (professional) work it needs is to have one slide removed and the corking replaced. Otherwise, aside from a few spots where it's been dented and repaired, it's in bloody good condition.
