FUNimation Acquires One Piece!

A while back, 4Kids annouced that they were giving up One Piece. Then this came in:

That's right. We'll be getting some voice acting at LEAST on the level of DBZ. (Which, you can't deny, had pretty good voice acting, that matched DBZ's style perfectly)

Also, no pointless edits.

Could be worse. They could have that weird angstyness to their voice that Ed always gets in Full Metal Alchemist.

No, I think they're both shite, especially One Piece.

FMA in my opinion is a good series(but the manga is far better). As for One Piece being shite, have you watched past the third arc or have you only been watching the garbage that 4kid$ claimed to be One Piece(i.e without smoking, drinking, the filler, the Little Garden arc, violence and guns). One Piece easily rivals Dragon Ball as being one of the best fighting adventure shounen stories.

And unlike other shonen jump stories the only thing predictable about One Piece is its unpredictability.

I third that, but I prefer OP of the two. FMA is boring, preachy and the characters are badly portrayed in the dub. I will not watch the original as I don't see the point when I dislike the premise of the show. OP is just badly stereotyped and the abstract designs bother me.

If Madman get the licence to release it here in Australia I might get into it. I like watching stuff that's exactly what it should be.

There was only one decent actor on crap piece to begin with originally.

Crispin Freeman was the green haired pirate dude.

Really? IMDb and Wikipedia don't list him anywhere in One Piece.

Hunter X Hunter is superior imo. But One Piece does indeed kick ass.

I thought this news was old.........I found out about this a while back. Anyways, I'm really behind in the anime because I'm depending on my friend to give me his DVDs. Currently on episode 50..........need more One Piece.

I just hope Funimation would remember to add the Intros & Outros from the Japanese versions.

I was pissed at 4Kids for the butchering and the omission of the J intros & outros.

For your convenience, I present to you One Piece's 3rd Intro, romanized as "Hikari e". After the show became a Toonami-exclusive, I started assuming that they'd finally add the J intros/outros. Didn't happen, much to my chagrin. >_>

(Trivia/Non-sequitur: this song was also featured in Konami's arcade music games GuitarFreaks & drummania from GuitarFreaks 10thMIX & drummania 9thMIX up to GFdm V2).

I wouldn't mind but 4kids actually did a version of We Are for the English dub and didn't use it.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AbxJu66iQMk
