I doubt Japan would bother to make new toys for it. They may take the BOA toys and give them a better paint job, but I can't see them going any further than that.

Maybe a few years down the line we may get a Chogokin release, though depending on how the Megazord looks in the final movie, engineering a Soul Of Chogokin one may be a bit of a challenge, even for Bandai.

Here is a new officially announced movie toy. It is a big interactive megazord that has some interactive options and can store the 5 rangers. It will retail for 80$ in Canada (it was found on toysrus.ca but I cant find the listing anymore)

Seeing it at this new angle shows a stronger resemblance to the head design of the original version (via the red horns), but it still looks more like a giant evil-looking ranger than a robot.

Heh, ironically, this thing looks more like a person in a spandex suit than the actual ranger suits do, whereas the rangers suits look more robotic than the actual robot does. :P

The ranger suits dont look very robotic too me. They look more alien and insect like, especially the helmets.

They look like extra sci-fi takes on Iron Man's suit to me (albeit, more flexible, though).

Unforgivable! Off to the pit with you!

or maybe I'll just stuff you into a space dumpster for 10,000 years. I see no negative consequences that could ever come from doing that.

Why the extra legs? I guess they were really going for insect hybrids, or at the very least alien-like.

That's not necessary!

it also makes no sense because they revealed the morpher with the coins which have the image of the actual prehistoric animals looking like they did originally. Although, sure the coins in MMPR looked like the organic animals while they had robotic zords instead, but this is a big departure. That mastodon looks like a beetle. And I had feared as such when that leak happened. We can now see how they all combine for the leaked Megazord.

What I find odd though is that the leaked Megazord image had a price tag of $100 and yet these individual zords are supposedly priced at over $30. So it is a way better deal to just get the giant box set of combining zords than buy them individually. I dont think I will be buying any of these toys though. I am more interested in Ninja Steel toys (cheaper too).

Not quite. The Item Numbering shows the individual Zords are split between two price points:

42555/42556 T-Rex

42560/42561 Mastodon
42560/42562 Triceratops
42560/42563 Saber-Toothed Tiger
42560/42564 Pteradactyl

The smaller ones are tentatively 20 bucks each.

Can we? Because no matter how much I look at the Megazord I can't see how the Zords are supposed to combine at all. I'm going to assume the toy's design is a far cry from what we'll see in the movie itself, since there's a lot of details missing.

I meant the toy images show us how they will combine for the combined toy megazord. You can see the ports under the Triceratops and the "mastodon". I have no clue how that will work for the movie, I think they will just merge there. The combined toy doesnt really look like the the combined movie zord, it doesnt even have hands

The T-Rex Zord is out along with some other movie merchandise! And the packaging does advertise the other Zords, plus what part they form.

The total cost is $120: $40 for the T-Rex and $20 each for the rest, as explained above. Makes the $100 gift set less hard to swallow, doesn't it?

The new Morpher is kinda cool, but man $40 CDN is really steep, that's $10 more than the Morpher from Dino Charge.

My gut reaction is feeling sick to my stomach. For some reason, its worse than when I saw the first TF designs for the movie. They were odd, but I kinda saw them in a real life setting, which we had not seen before. I think the difference here is that my image of these characters is already in live action, so this is a bigger change.

I look at this and can't help but wonder. First the Megazord, now Alpha... Do these movie people just... not know what a robot is?

I tell ya, it's like they took everything that's supposed to be made of metal and turn them into carbon-based organisms.

That's the thing about alien robots; they've never been seen by humanity in real life, so they don't have a standardized design philosophy. And you can actually laugh at anyone who suggests that they do.

I do not like Alpha's design, though, but I'll wait to see what it looks like moving in 3D.
