Well, that's a request from TFW done. Frustratingly, due to how Chromia's designed, you'll need to disassemble the entire torso to fit it, and I'll add a pictoral instruction to the model on my Shapeways store sometime.

Now back to working on my own projects!

Here's an idea for you: some new weapons for the Prime Cyberverse Abominus that look less crappy, still combine and don't break every 5 seconds. Bloody clear plastic mutter mutter...

I have most of those guys, but that sounds like a bigger job than I have time for, alas. ^^;

I like him! Nice magnifying glass- one of the better implementations of Lego I've seen.

Is your next extension for Nightbeat available from your Shapeways store? Call me stupid but I can't seem to find it...

It's not you, it's me :) I'm in the middle of reworking a number of designs after my last batch of prototypes, and the neck extension is one of them.

It's SO hard to tell by the naming what any accessory goes with. I'd make sure there are pics WITH the intended bot... or its actual name in comments or somewhere.

That said, I love your work. Keep it up!!

Thanks for the kind words!

I'm a bit wary of using official TF character names. I'm not sure if I'm being too paranoid or not, to be honest! I do say "for use with your XYZ figure" in a number of entries, I should probably do so for more. I do have pictures of parts with toys wherever possible, I think. :)

Hey GlauG... how did you get the clear window of Magnus to be fluorescent pink???? I've been wanting to do that treatment on a couple of bots. Please let me know what you used to paint/dye it!! ... and thanks! Look amazing.

I've got a bottle of clear-florescent pink paint from when I was living in Japan... IIRC it's the acrylic Mr Colour brand type. Sadly I don't know where you could get more. :(

Amazing!!!! (I'll give a hunt... looking for a greeny-yellow to paint a custom G2 Sideswipe.) If you ever turn up any, please post where you find. I'll do the same.

And again, huge props for your work. I'm saving up to put in an order. :-D

For what it's worth, I've only ever seen it in hobby stores in Hong Kong and Japan... I think I have a green one too, oddly enough!
If you're in the US, you could try one of the bigger import stores like GundamPlanet?

EDIT:

That's the specific line it belongs to, I believe. I'll try and check when I'm home from work.

Is this it? Is "aqueous" the lingo for transparent? :^Z Looks like they have yellow, green, and pink, but I can't find anywhere that says these are clear. Let me know if it looks like the stuff you used, and cheers!!

"Aqueous" means it's a (sort-of) water-soluble acrylic, like Tamiya's paints. That sounds like the one I have and I'll double-check for you when I can; IIRC it doesn't say it's transparent, but it comes out semi-clear.

Let me know if you could help confirm which is the clear one, if either. (?)

http://store.spruebrothers.com/SearchRe ... mit=Search

Yellow, Pink, Green all here in Mr Color AND Sangyo Hobby Color Aqueous version.

Heck. Maybe I should order both. At least I'd have matching touch up paint to add some detail to the panels, etc. They're only 2-4 bucks each.

ALSO these show up under gunze clear, but no fluorescent colors listed:

Do you remember if yours was for sure listed as fluorescent?

Thanks again for the back-and-forth. :-D

Ah, thank you. I'd like to try getting Nightbeat as MTMTE-accurate as possible, so I think chestplate and neck extension are a must. Do you have a "stomach" extension as well, to make him taller?

The neck extension is my attempt at making him taller without interfering with the transformation... I have a few plans in mind involving his legs, but they need a bit of work still. :)

So, can I buy both the chestplate and the neck extension? Sorry I've never bought anything from Shapeways :P

I need to finish tweaking the neck extension, so it's not currently for sale. I will definitely announce in this thread once it is, however :)

You might also post the 'recommended' paint colors in the final Shapeways page >:oP (I say this because I fully expect to do my own custom as directed.)

And again, HUGE thanks for the help identifying that day-glo clear coat. Hugely awesome!

I see the colors to cast the plastic in, but didn't see any paint colors... like for the blue and yellow on Nightbeat. (Maybe I'm missing it?) That blue seems like a tough one to match.

I guess it's only really important if you have actually found some good matches to the actual toy... or innovations — like that pink clear stuff. That's a game changer!

Again, huge props and much appreciation for helping bring these figures to life. You have mad skillz.
