Propper MP King Grimlock throne from scratch

Today I would like to present You my latest custom. I was very disappointed with quality of the throne, that was sold with MP-8X rerelease. On the other hand I really liked the idea of Grimlock having his own throne. That is why I decided to build my own version.
Throne was designed and built totally from scratch. The raw material I chose was polistyrene. I used 0,3mm and 1mm thick sheets during building process.
Before painting the throne I filled all the gaps with few layers of liquid green stuff. I also used different types of sandpaper to prepare surface for paintng.
I have added many scratch made details. The most noticable one is big autobot logo at the top.
Next step was painting whole model. I have started with few light coats of black undercoat. When paint dried I begun to paint the details. I wanted the throne to look heavy and carved from the block of stone or other tough material. I also added shadings to make sure throne looks more natural and to vary the surface.
I used three different shades of gray to create realistic shading effect. I used some slightly brown paint as well. I also highlighted edges of the throne and parts, that would normally wear from being used. Thanks to all this effort throne looks more authentic.
Time to give the king his throne. Grimlock is quite big and bulky figure, so the throne had to match. It's about 29 cm high to ensure it.
I designed throne in the way, that allows Grimlock to securely sit on it and freely pose "wings" of the figure.
The right bot on the right place. Grimlock seems to be satisfied with his new throne. Let's not test his patience and leave him alone before beast gets angry.

That is fantastic work. It looks like it's been milled from Aluminum. Seriously top notch
