This is a custom I completed awhile back around May, along with a MP custom Barricade.
I did it simply for fun

this project was to be a Datsun version of G1 Lockdown but the inspiration slightly changed as the project moved forward. Lockdown was intended to go with the barricade I made. The idea was I wanted Lockdown to look more like a custom Datsun, not a “death race” car.

Instead of a hook for a hand, I felt a grappling “hook” gun would be more fun. For me personally it got what I was aiming for.

Since this custom isn't a commission I have it up on eBay for anyone who wishes to take their shot at owning it.

Hm, I like this, but honestly, a Datsun isn't that Lockdown-y. I think this would be perfect if you shell-swapped it with an older Camaro model kit. Just some constructive criticism. But I'd not say no to owning this guy/

Very nice and professional looking as always. Can't say I'm a big fan of the concept, but the execution is excellent. Always great to see your projects!

Nice job! I believe it's the character's personality that makes the figure, rather than the alt mode. Considering this is Lockdown, the Datsun mode is really growing on me...

Like chonosmoon stated, it is inspired by G1. There was no really sporty cars back then, by modern comparison. This is about as sporty of a car from that series as you are going to get since he used a masterpiece figure, and all of the G1 figures are not released in the masterpiece line yet. The choices being Lancia Stratos Turbo, Nissan 280ZX, Lamborghini Countach LP500S, Pontiac Trans Am, Porsche 928, Ferrari 308 GTB, and the Lotus Esprit, to keep it G1 inspired. I think it fits in nicely with his Barricade, and the G1 concept. The paint job is excellent!!! Nice and clean, very precise and very professional. You did a great job! Your Skywarp is awesome too, but I'm not a fan of those jet figures.

I wonder what this would look like with the G2 Lambor mold and spikyness..

Looks spectacular. I really like the creative re-imagining for the grappling gun. I like the thought of him spiking some poor slob and slowly reeling him in like a fish on a hook.
