Removing excess glue/ nail polish/ pledge from joints?

As the title says, I can't really find any tricks to removing those items from joints.

I use the old super glue/ nail polish/ pledge floor polish trick to tighten joints, the pledge being my favorite if I have access to it. I recently did this on my Beast Wars 10th Optimus Primal with super floppy legs, I've done it with other figures without issue.

But now the joints are way too tight after two coats. So much that the robot arms feel like they'll snap at the joint when I move them. I was considering nail polish remover, but I don't know if that will damage the figure.

I've seen plenty of guides to apply this stuff, but nothing on removing it without damaging the figure, any advice?

Once it's set, the easiest way is to sand it off. If you don't have sandpaper or a Dremel, sanding sticks from the nail care aisle of Walmart/CVS/KMart/Whatever are cheap and work very well. Just sand a bit off, then check the fit. Repeat until the limb moves properly.

Thanks! I'll try it out, I've got some from modding Blitzwing still lying around.

If you've got Pledge on there, any window cleaner with Ammonia will take it right off. For nail polish, use acetone. If it's super glue, then yep, sanding it down's your best bet as far as I know. Good luck!
