My Masterpiece Ultra Magnus is better than yours. This will probably seem heretical to you, but I was disappointed with Masterpiece Ultra Magnus. There have been so many advances in TF engineering in recent years and yet they produced something that doesn't have much more articulation than the City Commander upgrade set. That one click available if you want to raise his arms to the side is lamentable, especially as the ratchet joint inside has many more clicks available.

Those hands were also very disappointing. They took the hand mold from MP-10 (with its ugly thumbs that point the wrong way), upscaled it and removed a finger joint. Unforgivable.

1) plastic trimmed away from the shoulders to increase mobility
z) back of head trimmed to allow him to look up further
c) new, fully articulated hands added and painted
4) groove cut into palms to hold gun securely

That is beautiful. Those hands really make the difference.

His energon-shakes bring all the bots to the yard.

Those mobility issues which I have seen in some youtube reviews have been why I am on the fence about this guy, esp when I could get citizen stack for much less funds and get similar articulation...albeit a little lesser quality...still not sure.

However, I do like your mods he looks a little more alive now, the hands add an extra bit of expressiveness and realism to him. Nice job!

The trimmed parts aren't visible in poses or in alt mode. They don't affect transformation at all.

Badass. I originally thought I would not do the mods for the extra clicks, but I now have him in hand and am thinking about it.

Where are the hands from? They look like Gundam hands, but I don't know which kit.

They're called 1/80th actionable hands. I found them on ebay but when I looked around the other day I couldn't find any.
