Classics G2 Hooligan
Posted: Wed Feb 11, 2015 10:04 pmThis is one that I've wanted to do for a while, but didn't get around to until now. Obviously, I was inspired by Jin Saotome's own Hooligan custom, but I took a few liberties with the original's paint layout. I thought this might be a good opportunity to practice some more detail oriented painting, and I'm very happy with how the stripes turned out, especially on his right leg.
I am torn, however; while I love the way the new head looks (it's got a very "Boba Fett-ish Vibe going on), I still really love Terradive's own head. So I'm gonna have to find a custom down the line to use that one with.

P.S. Why the pics are sideways, I don't know. Guess y'all will have to tilt your heads.

- I decided to leave the main black stripes from the base figure. Some might call me out for cheating, but I really like how it gives him a kind of vest in robot mode.
- Dat head, yo.
I liked how the white "collarbone" and "rotator cuffs" kind of emulated fur trim around the shoulders, or perhaps an old-school aviator's scarf. It also gives it more of an actual tiger-style paint scheme.
- A really, really small G2 Decepticon Insignia, added in homage to Hooligan's origins. Although, the placement in robot mode is...noticeable.
- White outline insignias courtesy of Reprolabes.
- Hooligan and his G2 buddy Dreadwing. I smell a buddy cop movie!
