I teamed up with SKYWARPED_128 to create an accessory kit for my Alternators Hound. I had the figure, took the measurements, and gave some broad design guidelines. SKYWARPED_128 created and designe the kit using my guidelines using some softwares and his 3D printing machine. For his services, I gave him a couple of TFs to customise. Once I've received the kit, I made some final adjustments and sendt him back the data to make the Hound kit 100% perfect.

I painted the kit and applied Reprolabels on Hound. The end result is a perfect MP-Hound! Sure, the accessory kit look a bit rough, but those are homemade prototypes. EXPECT THE KIT TO COME PRETTY SOON ON SHAPEWAY, in all their smooth glory.

To begin, the kit need some assembly. Note that the final Shapeway products will not have the same ammount of parts, and the hollocanon will be different.



The kit include:
-- Gaz canisser
-- Motorized hook and wire system, A.K.A "engine thing".
-- Big-ass gun
-- Hollocanon.


Now, let's stop stalling, and here's the final results!



The engine thing have a tab that slide tightly in the space between the front grill and the bumper.



Big-ass gun peg on the roof.








The gaz canisser ride inside the trunk.



The hollocanon cannot peg onto the vehicle, but you have the option of just throwing the thing onto the back seat.





Glorious robot mode is glorious!



Hound can carry his drink with 3 fingers.

Big-ass gun is carries solidly.





Hound is ready for some shenanigans with his hollocanon!



The thing is specifically designed to peg solidly in the hollow parts behind his head.







I used the 2 spare Repros to enhance the hollocanon.



Hound scale nicely with his fellow MP Autobots.

First off, awesome job on the paint apps, Kanrabat! As a whole package, this is about as perfect as it gets for a proper G1 Hound. The paint really brings the accessories to life!

@Cobotron: I used Sketchup 8. I'm slowly relying more and more on ZBrush for more organic and complex models like custom heads, but Sketchup is still great for mechanical designs. Some people don't like the UI, but it's great as far as I'm concerned.

The software that actually drives me up the wall is Blender. Between it, ZB and Sketchup, Blender has the worst UI by far. On the other hand, there are plenty of people who've mastered in and seem to be fine using it, but hate Sketchup's UI.

It all boils down to personal preferences, really, and how our brains are structured.

And thank you for making it possible! I always loved Alternators Hound, despite the limited arm articulations. I always wanted an accessory kit for him, but it was never happening.

Then, you commented on one of my custom and you share a custom idea that you wanted to make, but couldnt because of a lack of figures. I proposed to sell them to you, but you were broke. Your custom idea was too great to pass on so it had to have a way. Then, you mentionned you were into 3D moddeling.

The Hound MP kit was now possible!

It took how much time, making this? At least 6 months? A year? Anyway, we did it, man, we did it! Now, to kae the kit popular and selling it. I dunno how much it will be worth, but I'm really looking forward your firsts sales!

Indeed, you did me a solid by trading Bulkkhead and BH Arcee for the upgrade kit! Ladies and gents, I stand in testimony that Kanrabat is a good man.

Yeah, a lot of things happened in between, what with your having to move to a new apartment before your old one joined Atlantis under the ocean ( ). And then the thunderstorms came, and I had to postpone printing until the storms dissipated.

And thanks for the well wishes, man! With a few adjustments, it'll be up for sale at Shapeways!

No idea. The original creator, SKYWARPED_128, is still making the finishing touches on the Hound Kit 2.0.
