Here is a quick and dirty way to make CW Rodimus just a little more Hot Roddy.

*EDIT* photobucket crunked this all up, so new pics below

And if you're wondering, still transformers fine.

I just have to be careful inserting and removing the spoileraxe.

Smartly done! I was thinking of adding a tab on the weapon that can attach into the slot at the back, but then the new tab have to be strong enough to not snap... seeing your mod, it's clearly a better solution!

Thanks. Cutting the notches in Rodimus was a real beast with the tools I have at hand. Probably would have been a lot easier with something better than just an xacto knife.

If you go this route, be careful, It would be real easy to cut clean through the tabs on the axe.

Oh... then using a filing tool might be a better (albeit slower) option.

Made the mod on my Blackjack. (Haven't seen Wave 4 up here in Canada yet). Although I still messed up by braking a peg off, I reattached it using superglue and metal pins. It's very sturdy, I can flip the figure upside down and shake it like a pepper shaker and the axe/wing won't fall off.

Looks really good with just a bit of paint here and there.

Awesome! Looks great, that extra paint really sets it off. I especially like the ab paint. Yeah, that plastic on the axe is super soft.

I may have to track down some maroon paint. The paint on the axe makes it look more integrated.

Thanks for sharing.

what did you use to cut the tabs and his back? I've been using poster putty to hold the spoiler on his back. Looks good, but it moves around quite easily.

A regular ole xacto knife.

I think I said before, but be careful of the tabs on the axe. They are super soft and real easy to cut completely through. I almost slipped and did that on my first tab.

The chunks out of Rodimus himself are very hard to get going. I would think something like a small straight wood chisel used for carving would work better.

I was impatient and wanted to get it done, so I just took my time and tried to keep it as clean as possible. It's a little rough looking up close, but I'm happy with the results.

Thanks. I might give it a try. Was nervous enough using a silver sharpie on Cyclonus this morning. Not sure if I want to start cutting into my figures

Sharpie? Cyclonus? Are you painting CW Cyclonus's horns? If so I would be interested in a pic. I'm thinking of doing just that.

I was nervous as well, but powered through it.

Check out Seibertron's gallery of Cyclonus. I did the same to mine.

What's quite comical, is the first thing I tried to do was attach the spoiler in robot mode (after transforming him back and forth real quick  ) Thanks for the link brother! I'm gonna modimus my Rodimus tonight!!
