Classics Pointblank

Since my Rebirth Autobot shelf is almost completed, I decided it was time for a Pointblank. Especially since Hastak unintentionally created the perfect stand ins for Sureshot and Crosshairs. So why not complete the trio right ? Mastershooter Collectibles gave us the Targetmasters. So I debated on the perfect mold. People have used Generations Blurr in the past which combined with SG drift would have been a easy mix and match of parts. But Im just not feeling that mold for Pointblank, plus the heads suck. Another good candidate was Armada Blurr, who also had a red repaint, but damn the articulation on that figure sucks. I accidently stumbled upon Excellion on E-Bay which is a Rodimus homage repaint of Cybertron Hot Shot, and I was like that’s it ! The head was a dead ringer for Pointblank. And with some parts swapping with Cybertron Hot Shot, you can get away with minimal painting. Im no fan of full paint overs because I like a figure that can be transformed without damaging the paint. I was also able to use black dye on the thighs which further made the figure safe for handling and plenty of transforming. I also put up some pictures of the donors who gave up their sparks to make this custom Pointblank happen. Enjoy !

I like it. Nice way of using minimal paint apps and still bringing out a cool update.

Loving the use of these moulds as Pointblank and part swapping is just genius! :APPLAUSE:

I was thinking of using the FoC Sideswipe mould but may just pinch your idea as this looks sweet! ;)
