Here's my first kitbash. I started with a G1 plastic wheel Rodimus Prime I acquired from a friend many years ago. Having been exposed to the elements, the yellow parts were sun baked and surprisingly the only decal that survived was the flames on the hood. I saved the hood decal.

My first idea was to make a Hate Virus Rodimus. After some thought, I decided to go with an Orion Pax. When Transformers was on TV in the 80's, I was more into GI Joe. A couple of years ago I bought the 1st, 2nd pt 1 and 3rd pt 1 DVD box sets. Until recently, I never knew there was actually an Orion Pax in the cartoon. I've still yet to see War Dawn.

That said, my Orion Pax isn't based on the cartoon Orion Pax, but I worked from the Cybertronian Optronix from the Transformers Ultimate Guide and my G1 Re-issue Optimus figure. I first started adding some Testors model putty for the faceplate. This is the first time I've tried using this stuff. Then, I used a Krylon primer. If I'd put more thought into this, I wouldn't have used primer, and just used Krylon Fusion. Lesson learned.

After priming, I used Krylon Fusion red and blue. I found a really cool pewter color paint by Plastikote. It made the upper legs and infrastructure look like die cast metal, which the flash distorts and makes look more glittery than it really is. To enable the head to properly fold down, I carved a groove into the infrastructure.

There are some details I'm still trying to decide how to paint based on my Optimus figure. Hope everyone enjoys the pics.

NOTE: The pics seem to be listed last to first.

Two points:

1) Pics aren't showing up.
2) You know you could have posted these in the same thread as the first lot, right?
