CW Computron/Betatron upgrade

I think we can all agree that Computron has gotten the shaft in the CW line. While Scattershot got an extensive remold from its moldmates, the combined torso mode looks like Superion fell into a vat of red paint. Despite that fact, I still saw potential...

First things first, I had to get Betatron's head to look more like Computron's... so I cut his antennae down a bit and did some basic paint testing.

From there I had to get that head painted. For whatever reason, the plastic for this head did NOT like the Model Masters Acryllic burnt sienna that I purchased, so I mixed it with a little MM enamel gold paint to thin it out and that seems to have worked, and provided a pretty G1 accurate head color for Computron.

Then to break up the monotonous red torso, I added gold accents where I felt appropriate, using the molded details as a guide.

All in all, I think this adds a lot to the figure and does a lot to make it stand out from the other "plane torso" CW figures.

What's funny though, is that the head is actually molded in white plastic and painted black! It really makes me wonder what Hasbro was thinking on this one.

and since we don't have any technobots to merge with, for now... he'll just be betatron! Enjoy!

Yep, more half-heartedness on Hasbro's part and yours looks a lot better, and at least the body and head now seem more like Computron despite the lack of appropiate limbs. Nice work.

I'm holding out hope that we'll see proper technobots in some way or form. With the release of the botcon set, it's obvious that the molds are there. I wouldn't be surprised to see them as tfcc exclusives though.
