Various Combiner Wars Customs: Fire Team, Race Team, and a random Thunderclash.
Posted: Thu Jul 21, 2016 7:24 pmThe Combiner Wars bug bit my friend so hard, it took a pound of flesh and flew off! After HIS FIRST REQUEST, here's some simple and not so simple customs I made by his request.
Here in one go the 3 vehicles that I repainted and modded:
He already had United Menasor, but he didn't really care for the accuracy of the team. So Dragstrip was replaced by Offroad. However, the desire came to have an all racer team. First was to have ALL the racecars. Mirage was readilly available and dirt cheap. But the other Dragstips were a problem. The G2 version was 50$ alone on Ebay. After nopeing, he bought a G2 CW Menasor for 115$CAN all included at Walmart.ca.......... But he made a mistake and bought TWO. I no longer had a Menasor of my own so I traded in a few CW figures and my work for his spare. Anyway, he now have his G2 Dragstrip, a main torso to mod, and some extra limbs.
All is good, except for the regular Hasbro Dragstrip. WAAAAAYYYYYY too late to get it, the cheapest is 50$ online! Nopeing again, I bought him a Mirage to customise. I chosed to make him the colors of all the other racing limbs. He'll stay a

Meet DRAGRAGE
For the main body of the Racing Team, he wanted a gaz tanker. So, the best course of action was to mod G2 Motormaster. To make the best gaz tank possible, I did the cardinal sin of building is out of Legos. Then GLUING, SCREWING, and PAINTING them!
Meet MOTORRACER
As you can see here, the tanker rest on the trailer hitch and plug on the back of the crotchplate:
He's on BOTH sides BTW. He don't care about politics. Only racing.
The tank detach, separate, and plug on Motorracer's "shoulders" to make "wing" kibbles. What?! PARTFORMING?! Worst toy ever.
In combined mode, both halves of the tank plug into his chest to become a MASSIVE chestplate. I had to gut out the insides like a fish with my Dremel. Still transform perfectly fine.

Next is the FIRE TEAM!
This one was a team I would have made for myself. However, having a COMPLETE G2 Menasor of my own was more important. To have it, I gave him CW Hotspot and Mirage (to custumise) and CW Sunstreaker and Ironhide. Plus, my work.
So, here's Veriot Spot
This is just a straight repaint, no modding. The black parts, the chestplate, the wheels, and the ladder were untouched.
By some incredible luck, I found him a CW WreckGar to go with it!
Magmasor is GLORIOUS! I'm very happy with it. Too bad It's not mine...
The limbs are the unmodded Sunstreaker, Ironhide, and two G2 stunticons.

That Optimus was supposed to be mine. So I ordered the Reprolabel set and 4 Mirages to go with it. Everything changed when I came accross Skylinx. My friend, who prefer realistic land vehicles in his TFS, was looking desperately for a CW Optimus. Well, I sold it to him for dirt cheap AFTER applying the stickers. That baby blue G2 stunticon should be Prowl if I'm lucky enough to come accross it to buy it for him.
