Transformers Animated Slipstream

Vehicle mode

Image

Slipstream, just like Starscream transforms into highly stylised jet. Despite many changes I was able to keep vehicle mode very close to the original.

Image

Paint scheme was based on how Slipstream looked in Transformers Animated Almanac. That's why I added some purple on the backside of vehicle mode.

Image

When my base colours were done I've added some minor details to make the figure match rest of my seekers as closely as possible.

Image

I armed Slipstream with a pair of null rays. Those can be mounted under the wings via magnets. I've also equipped them with swivels. This combination allows two axis movement.

Image

The last touch of vehicle mode was giving cockpit new, blue-green tint. Working with this translucent paint is quite difficult but the results compensate the effort:) You will be able to see it better in robot mode.

Time for some comparisons

Image

Image

I think my Slipstream fits rest of the seekers perfectly. When I see all of them as a group I enjoy new colours even more:)

Image

I wanted my Slipstream to look as close to original figures as possible. I have also adjusted paint scheme and painting methods to this purpose.
Before we move on I would like to draw your attention to one more thing - front intakes have adjustable height which gives them some more realism and reminds me of Harrier's rotating jet turbines.

Robot Mode

Image

One of the main challenges while working on this custom was changing Starscream's bodybuilder proportions into something slightly more feminine. I was able to achieve this goal thanks to narrowing the chest area and seriously rebuilding what I was left with. The mechanism allows both delicate look and full push-up chest mode, whichever you prefer:). To complete the effect I have added, scratch-built slimmer arms and new, slightly bigger head.

Image

Legs didn't require any modification. I wanted them to look close to other seekers and moreover their shape was forced by modified transformation. I only created new tail fin because my base was missing one.

Image

In the middle of each forearm i have added small magnet, which allow null rays to attach. It works similar to what I showed you in vehicle mode.

Image

Legs have full poseability of the original figure. Each arm has a swivel and balljoint in the shoulder, another balljoint in the elbow and wrist rotation. I designed hands in the way, that allows them to be easily switched to different ones if I will decide to make them in the future(for example wielding something or changing into the cannon):) It's worth mentioning that armlets can be clicked on top of the balljoint socket and secured that way for robot mode or collapsed around arms in vehicle mode.

Image

One more close-up on the head. I think it shows perfect mix of confidence and contempt, which you expect from Slipstream. By the way in this photo you can see new cockpit colour much better than in vehicle mode.

Some more comparisons

Image

Let's start with good old Starscream. It's hard to believe that both of those figures started as basically the same thing. During building process I slightly lowered attachment point of the wings. This helps during displaying Slipstream with other seekers.

Image

My Slipstream seems to have exactly the same attitude as her cartoon self.

Image

Time to see how Slipstream looks compared to other variations of seeker mould.

Image

And when all the testosterone is gone it's time for ladies night out with Blackarachnia and Arcee.

Image

...at least until they realise that Autobots and Decepticons don't get along too good. By the way - my Arcee got a few touch-ups. If you would like to see more details please let me know:)

Image

That's all I wanted to show you. I hope you like my custom Animated Slipstream. I am very satisfied with this project and how it turned out. I am sure Slipstream will fit perfectly next to other Animated Decepticons.

Talking about Animated Decepticons...

Image

See for yourself:)

Image

and as a bonus another picture - this time autobots:)

I sculpted it from scratch. My only material was a ball of green stuff:)

I think I posted the same message at your thread at TFW2005, but I can't see a single image that you've linked to here. All I see is a row of "[ IMG ]" texts, so I assume the links you've used are now broken? Maybe the housing sure I'd having problems?

I am not sure why some of the users can see my images and some can't. It seems like you may have some kind of regional lock that blocks them. I have uploaded some additional photos as attachments:) By the way have you tried checking images from the source? (link on the bottom of my first post)

That looks awesome! I'm amazed at how feminine it looks considering the mold it was based on, and the modifications barely affect the jet mode at all.
