So i got blitzwing yesterday, and when transforming it, i feel like collapsing the legs properly requires unnecessary amount of force, which is uncomfortable for me, thus i try to inspect it. Turns out, the cause was that the knee hinge is too thick, thus preventing the knee to fold all the way in when collapsing it. Practically what we are doing is forcing the knee to bend more than it can do, by hooking the tab on the leg, which in the long run, could cause some damage to the inner part of the knee hinge. Thus, i try to fix that. This is what i do:



using a hobby knife, i shaved the purple part of the knee hinge, so that the knee can easily fold in all the way, and removing the tab, because when we are done shaving, the hole it sits into will be practically gone anyway, and it wasn't necessary, as the hinge inside the leg has locking mechanism once it is extended all the way.



this is a side view. As you can see, i remove quite a lot of plastic that it makes some sort of valley. That much removal is necessary, so the lower leg can sit flush with the hip once collapsed.



this part also need to be shaved a bit, as it bumps on the upper leg when collapsed, preventing it to go all the way in.

As a result:



you can easily collapse the leg without significant force, and it leaves no gaps, the flap can close easily all the way.



it leaves a good ground clearance in tank mode (make sure you tab the leg to the crotch properly).



you can still pose the knee just fine also.

This mod is probably not that crucial, but if you also like me finding that forcing is uncomfortable, hopefully this could help.
