From the Vault: Warglide ... Powerpath ... whichever

Va'al and I got talking the other night and the subject turned to the upcoming POTP Battletrap release. He's a fan of it, and I'm a fan of the original Duocons from my childhood days (long before Va'al was born because I'm THAT old).

Which reminded me of a custom I did a number of years ago. I don't think I ever showed it off because I never considered it complete because t(he)y had no weapons.

Nor did I decide upon the name. It was a toss up between Warglide or Powerpath. Why?

Simple. It was the combined form of Warpath and Powerglide.

"Well that just sounds stupid Burn, what drugs were you on when you came up with that?"

No drugs, but the back story has both of them being badly injured to the point their only chance of surviving is to utilise the technology that was used to create the Duocons. So while they didn't have individual robot modes, they retained their tank and plane alt modes, and combined into one robot mode.

You get the idea. I'll get just to the pictures shall I?

And a little behind the scenes shot. As I took these photos at night I had the ceiling light directly above, so I needed to defuse the light some how. Enter, the tissue!

So there you have it. A long lost custom from back in the day when I use to churn them out on a regular basis. It's nothing spectacular, and realistically it's just a different shade of colours from Flywheels, but the fun part was taking them apart and being able to put them back together and keep the spring mechanisms working.

That's a pretty good idea actually. If I ever come across a junker I might do it.
