Finished this today.
Pics are bad but can't seem to get any better.
Small painted black and silver details don't show much but in person, this guy kicks a$$!

Fantastic! I can't believe that you got the legs to line up in dino-mode!
So, who's the crotch doner?

I was wondering that myself, but forgot to ask at Transtopia. I think it's one of the Devastator frontloaders, most like from the Universe Dev.

Yeah, this is effing awesome. I like that you didn't change too much from the original. that's what always bothered me about classic grimlock. he doesn't come close in dino-mode. Well done. a little quick step-by-step might be in order;;). I think a lot of us on here would appreciate it.

cheers.

Just out of curiosity, why did you decide to make a classics Sludge?

The toys given to us in the 80's lacked articulation so I decided to improve the G1 toys mostly of season 1 and 2 to give them the look they deserved and try to make them as good and mighty as they were in the cartoon.
To make it short, I expand the classics line we will never get.

Don't know about the neck, it's very well done, but you shuld ad a little detail to it, color in the lines that are on the Transmetal Megatron tail you used and it'll look purrrrrrrvect!

So basically you articulated a G1 Sludge?

Which brings up the question I asked in a whole thread about it, why call it Classics when it's a G1 mold?

Not criticising you, just curious. Because I do hate you for doing such a damn good job. :P

Well, I guess if they did a classics Sludge, I'd want it to be like that. Unlike Classics Grimlock or Devastator who does'nt look anything like the G1 so why did they call him a classics?
The classics line is based on G1 caracters. Improved articulation and better looks of a G1 makes it into the classics line. I did take a G1 mold but with so many articulation added and mods to his body to allow his transformation he is now a classics!
Tell me the one you would've want for christmas!!

Well actually it depends on the quality of chrome on your unaltered Sludge.

Oh who am I kidding, i'll take both Sludges. I don't mind having a second unaltered Sludge, he's a wonderful figure.

Of course if you really want to provide instructions so I could turn this knock-off Sludge I have into more than just a repainted Bludge that'd be pretty nifty. :P
(Actually just what parts you used. I articulated a Stalker, how hard can Sludge be?)

I don't take commissions but parts used are:
Classics Bumblebee balljoints for head, shoulders and elbows.
Energon Sledge for waist, upper legs and knees.
metal pin, spring and washer and putty for mods to his inside of torso. If I can avoid using crazy glue I use hot glue sticks to hold parts. It's stronger.
Look at the first page of this thread, there is a pic of his inside.
oh and I forgot, the last mod I did...TM Megs tail
