It's been a while since I posted my last custom, so I am pleased to announce my latest creation

Custom - Transformers Studio Series Soundwave

DSC_8018Obrobione.jpg

First of all - a short montage of my figure and somWIP photos.

Car Mode
I always liked DOTM Soundwave alt mode, however I don't think that silver colour fits it. That's why the colours I chose reflect the the G1 scheme, so blues and golden accents all the way! I think it works much better for this mold.

Robot Mode

My idea for this custom was getting as close as possible to G1 feel of Soundwave but on the other hand give it a lot of details to better show all the intricacies of the mold. As you can see with all the added details, the figure looks completely different. I also added some rust and battle damage to give my Soundwave more natural look. Last step was removing the roof. I modified it, so now it attaches to the figure "c-clip" style.

I hope you like my work. Feel free to comment and ask any questions.

Very nicely done, and the blue does look quite good on that car.

I'm pretty sure the silver was Mercedes' idea. To be fair, Soundwave had a fair bit of silver to him in ROTF, but it seemed to be speckled with blue like Shockwave is with purple (although to a lesser extent). And he had a lot more blue glowing bits lit up over him at all times.
I also think he was bigger.. Kinda makes me wonder if maybe he got shot down between movies.

Thank you!

Yup, I wouldn't be surprised if Mercedes Would push their car in their most popullar colour but it hurt this guy so much... . Specks are ok but nothing beats a nice metallic, so I hope new installments of Transformers films will be more mindful about this. And yeah, Soundave seemed quite bigger in ROTF but personally I am not too fond of this film, so I don't mind not sticking to it too much ;)
